This is exactly why registry data is relevant today more than ever. We can all likely post pics of implants/X-rays that failed. I've started taking pics of every revision knee for the past year. Out of 35-40 full revisions there were only two tibias that didn't came out clean. The irony here is one of the tibias covered with cement was an Attune, the other was a Nexgen for those that care. Seriously, have we really been reduced to showing docs pictures on our phones of failed implants to sell?
And for those people saying registry data isn't important or that it's BS - what does that say about the companies with higher revision rates at 3 years vs Attune? This is unbiased information from a country where nothing is excluded. Over 330,000 Attunes implanted in the US at this point, do the math if you want using the MAUDE database and tell me what the percentage is. Double or triple the number to account for the patients that go somewhere else. At AAHKS where you'd think these discussions would be taking place the posters and talks were focused more on trunion issues and cup loosening. Any Attune posters? What about all the negative papers people have been promising?
