Attention Andy Ajello - DCS Overpopulation

Sorry but you are wrong. If they have several small to middling brands, companies tend to hire multiple field forces (or 1 or 2 field force divisions plus a CSO because they know that its hard to chat up a doc for 50 seconds and cover several brands. Blockbusters no longer require multiple sales forces, as the industry has found that busy customers quickly get tired of 2-3 reps selling (and I use the term loosely) the same drug.

I aint a Doc, (hell, I aint even a Rep, I'm a TROLL!!) but if I was a Doc, I sure as hell wouldnt want to see a different Sales Rep from the same company knockin' on my door every day of the week. What a pain in the ass!

I run my own business. It aint unusual for Sales Rep's from various wholesaler's to show up in my office every now and then. But them guys know better than to show up too much, because if they did, they sure as hell know I'd throw 'em the fuck out in a New York minute!

As you can see, I aint got as much class as your average Doc. But I sure as shit can guarantee you, the Doc's are thinkin just like me. They just aint sayin' it out loud.

Depends on the company dolt.

It's not how many drugs, but how much each drug makes for the company. You can have 6 drugs that make squat for the company or 1 blockbuster.

It's how promotional sensitive the drugs are. Ever heard of Nexium? It's the #1 selling drug in the world, over $7billion a year. AZ did away with rep promotion of Nexium 4 years ago. It's not how much the drug brings in, nor how many drugs are in your bag. It all comes down to whether the drug can continue sales without the reps. In the case of Nexium, they didn't need reps and the drug kept growing.

Good point. Neither Victoza or Levemir will ever sell themselves, but they are not that promotionally sensitive to need an army of reps either.

I sold Nexium and it had lost market share starting over 3 years ago and AZ still has reps sampling it. Check your accuracy before you come here spouting off your "wisdom".

Hey former AZ rep: Nexium sells itself. No way you have made any difference over the past 4 years. Your crap drug Crestor certainly got its ass kicked by Lipitor when you had twice as many people in the field as Pfe while Pfe didn't even sell it.

You cant blame them. They probably got their info from a class at a Pharma Marketing MBA program (one of the biggest ponzi schemes going, one step above those law schools that were popping up like weeds 10 years ago)

Note to DUMBFUCK

I never said anything about Nexium growing marketshare. I said Nexium continued to grow sales and is the world's top grossing drug at $7Billion a year. Now try to tell me again what is not factual about my original remarks? It is possible to grow sales and lose market share, newby.
