Are you interviewing with Intuitive?

Too Late . We dont want you or need you . When is your suture training date ?

i think your managers calling you today...AGAIN!! He says your year is up, enough with trying to business plan with you..its hopeless - time to go slacker...repeat this "ummm..yea, ahh...i will take a poppyseed bagel with lite cream cheese and toaste...i will be over in the corner using your free wifi...and will probablly be here for lunch too..i love panera...btw..do you still have that awesome french onion soup???" good luck - i love replacing reps like you - it makes me look like a hero!!

he will be the guy with "suit and no tie" in panera. or better yet, he will wear his scubs - yea, thats a good look...intuitive loves to be represented like that panera boy.
i have worked for intuitive for the past3.5 yrs and it is hard work but i do provide a healthy living. most people like our panera boy cannot handle it...lately we are hiring a lot of former covidien and ethicon endo reps, which i will say is a welcome addition. very smart, clinical and work there buts off. Good luck panera boy, i did here that the french onion soup is tasty...make sure you get a panera rewards card then your good...

Their in place of there, here inn place of hear. Fucking idiot, sure you're a real gem.

I'm a bit confused by the "Fucking idiot" from 4:56 yesterday; I believe "inn" is another word for "hotel" or "lodge". Can you clarify the point you were trying to make?

I interviewed with Intuitive awhile back. Manager seemed OK but there was this certain douche-baggy smirk he had...that I just stared through. I got a call back saying I wasn't being considered but I don't know if I would have been cut out for this. Afterwards I had other device reps tell me the job was a turnover machine and that Intuitive is not a respectable org. Plus, I don't have Massengill stamped on my head...

You guys have a hard life, make good money and seem to have a pretty big ego. Prostitutes are the same way. Read "Freakenomics" if you don't believe me.

Cheers.

Hilarious last post. Let's be totally honest - this company sucks and everyone who works here knows it. We just tolerate the bullshit culture and all the crap from Corporate.

Good comedy- thanks for the chuckles. What I don't understand is why you disgruntled ISI alums who all seem to have found bigger and better still take your valuable time to bitch.

At the same time, all you current employees who hate the gig and the company in general- why not get the fuck out? If you're such a victim with so much more to offer- put your money where your big mouth is and leave already.

Let me help you craft your totally predictable responses: kool-aid drinker, suck up, JA minion, corporate lackey, etc. From my perspective it's certainly not a perfect org, it's an ass-kicker of a job, work life balance is not balanced. However I make good money and for the most part like/respect the people I work with. All things considered I like my gig and where the company is headed. As soon as I don't feel the same way- I'll go.

I urge you to do the same.

Thanks for the above. I've been meaning to write something similar for months. Getting tired of the disgruntled few (mostly past, some current) employees pretending to speak for the many. I'm in your camp and know many who feel the same way.

As a current member of the ISI cult... there have been some ups and some downs. The technology is great. However, the management staff is sooo focused on delivering feedback (relevant or not - to justify their jobs) that they often lose sight of what management is about - developing people. Oh wait, CSRs are not seen as people, only a means to an end. In feedback, you will deal with personal assaults (really, they will bring your personal hobbies and family relationships into the mix to prove a point), pointed ridicule on how 99.6% is not the company standard. To everyone's point... putting my money where my mouth is - leaving the company as soon as possible. Looking for another job now. The money is not worth the literal hell of constantly being told: "you are not good enough", how "your family must be worried given your performance", how "your past 5 president's club winnings don't mean a thing if you are only hitting 110% to quota... sandbagger", how "the perception of management is all that matters... don't screw it up", how "selling surgeons is priority #1... and... um patients... of course", how "selling these surgeons is soooo easy... you must be completely clueless..." and when you have a field ride with a manager... and he fails completely because the surgeon thinks he's an arrogant jerk (and says he never want to see him again... ever).... wait, wait... all of a sudden that surgeon is impossible because god almighty (manager - CSM) was not able to sell him. But don't worry, the feedback will be that you did not set the right expectation in making sure your manager had a good grasp on the surgeon. The second feedback will be about your epic failure to sell that same surgeon. The third feedback will be how you failed a precall plan for that surgeon. The fourth feedback will be making sure you sell him that same quarter or you will be a failure that can't get it done (albeit a quota attainment of 122%... killing it)".

Ok. Done with the rant... Needed to vent. Been here 4 years... never been more miserable. Moving on with my life... Run… don’t look back… Just run.

Well- sorry it's been so hard on you. Your manager sounds less than optimal, that's for sure. At the same time, when you find that perfect manager with the perfect org who is focussed solely on patients and your personal development, while paying the same or more, please let us all know.

I feel you...right up until you said you like where the company is going. If you like the money, company circle jerks, etc. That's great. But when you say you like where the company is going... yikes. Says a lot about you. Good luck.

Fair enough- to each his own. But don't get me wrong- I don't always agree with decisions made at the top. But by and large I buy in to our mission- changing the way surgery is done, and providing MIS to the broadest base of patients possible. For me that's an ideal I can wrap my head around and support. I like the new products and think we've got more upside than most other companies.

I just don't feel victimized like so many others on this site. I'm getting back what I put in to it, and I'm willing to put up with the normal level of nonsense I've experienced at every other org I've worked at.

Whats sad, is that the technology sounds great, but the reputation of the company from an employee retention standpoint is horrible.

If a company picks and hires these employees, and cant keep them happy (the employees the company selected) then what does it say about said company?

I'm apprehensive about ever working there. I dont even return calls from recruiters when they mention ISI

This is an anonymous message board in case you haven't realized. All it takes is one butthurt ex employee to spew a bunch of nonsense.

True, probably one ahole out there with plenty of time on their hands.

But, if anyone is serious about an opportunity with ISI, don't rely on this site, definitely don't rely on their recruiters. Seek out a surgeon who has had experience with technology and the company. I can almost guarantee with 99% accuracy that you will get this response:

"Unbelievable technology, but their reps are a bunch of arrogant pricks, who throw around buzz words like 'adoption curves, laggards, market development, and I challenge you to..."' (My personal favorite).

This place was awesome 4 years ago. Now it is the next big Pharma gig. Highly regulated, only yes-men apply.

Most of the responses I have read seem to be centered around the CSR position.

Can any past or current ISI employee comment on the Area Sales Manager (ASM) position?

Specifically I am looking for feedback on the following:

1) Income potential. I have heard the range at quota is in the 3-400k range with the top 10% making over a million. I understand this depends on the market opportunity of the territory but would like to have someone share their experience or incite.
2) Management differences. I have been told that this group is not micro managed the same way the CSR position due to the very nature of the job. CSRs need to be johnny on the spot in cases whereas the ASMs are tasked to sell capital into hospitals without a system. I have heard that attending cases are not part of the daily job description.
3) Job satisfaction. In your opinion are the ASMs generally more satisfied with the job given the income and the way this group is managed?

I currently have a stable career but am very tempted to join ISI due to the power of their technology.

Thank you for your feedback.

Yet you're trolling this page. Don't believe the hype from the haters. Do your homework- turnover rate is the same as industry average for device. If you're looking to coast- this is not the job for you. If you can sell, want to make good $, and play a role in the wave of the future, then educate yourself and seriously look in to it.
