Is it just this way in pharma or are Novartis managers really this dumb and clueless?
So I’m not sure clueless or dumb is the right description, slightly delusional I’d say. The writing is on the wall, we all know that. There is no way a large cut isn’t coming and why they are waiting to send us all to Vegas makes no sense to me…they should just come out with the business rules and give everyone an idea. They admitted change is coming, why make people be away from families for 5 days…lean it out and bring who your keeping to Vegas and let everyone move on.Is it just this way in pharma or are Novartis managers really this dumb and clueless?
I’d say there is some of both. Pharma in general Is a flawed system. Run like a junior high school system with too many layers of useless people in power who have nothing to offer in a sense of productivity. Novartis takes the junior high school system analogy to an entirely different level. At Novartis you have the leaders pulling the fire alarms and running useless fire drills instead of students doing it as a prank. Novartis leaders create fear and pandemonium. They thrive on causing chaos and in some twisted way feel it brings them a purpose in their jobs. I know it’s crazy AF but it’s called Novartis. Is it just this way in pharma or are Novartis managers really this dumb and clueless?
I agree being away at a meeting for 5 days can put a lot of stress on employees who have children at home, we all know it’s coming just do it before the meeting. I’m sure we would all appreciate that much more.So I’m not sure clueless or dumb is the right description, slightly delusional I’d say. The writing is on the wall, we all know that. Feel free to call Dez and his acolytes self-important and incompetent, as it is a correct statement; however, neither one of those things is the worst character feature they possess. That would be greed.I agree being away at a meeting for 5 days can put a lot of stress on employees who have children at home, we all know it’s coming just do it before the meeting. Well yeah! Most kissed some series a$$ to get prompted and now spend their days trying to mask their high level of incompetence So they don’t make fools of themselves.Novartis leaders are incompetent and scared little biatches.
They are all so phony! Wasting our time doing “coffee talks” so we can get to know them! What is hilarious is how they all say they are happy to join in the field to help us with customer who we may be “afraid” to ask the tough questions ! No body needs VP helpWell yeah! I have been with five different companies in the last ten years. It amazes me who runs the show in these multi-billion dollar companies. Mostly people who have never sold anything to a doctor. A bunch of Ivy League MBA’s who know nothing about selling, or human nature or what it really takes to change habits. So sad! They are all so phony! Wasting our time doing “coffee talks” so we can get to know them! .( your job is the biggest waste of employment ever) you’re stale and don’t know how to sell and our customers don’t want you in their offices! Same goes for AbL. Zero value you bring to me and our job! You don’t coach, you don’t sell .. it’s all smoke and mirrors here! And stop talking about how great you all think the culture is! If the culture was good people would be making lots of money in IC!! Making lots of $ with contests! What contests??
You would send the field “little gifts” just because.. when we have NSM you would do something fun and nice for us.. like renting out a Disney park, taking us to a show.. anything besides lackluster hotel food….
and most importantly you would value the tenured employees you have hired and stop sending ABls to babysit and complete worthless spreadsheets! Nothing special or energizing about this place. It’s a wonder people get out of bed for the lack of appreciation for your field sales.
1) "culture" is corporate doublespeak for not paying industry standard wages and bonuses. When was the last time you paid your mortgage or grocery bill with "culture"?They are all so phony! Agreed they are a disgrace. Only skill sets they have are being ass kissers and following a laughable big pharma script that’s out of touch with reality.Unbelievable the pathetic people who get promoted to ABLs here. It’s flat out embarrassing. Majority of them could not influence a bunch of hungry homeless people on the street to eat a home cooked meal. Beyond pathetic talent level here.
This is so true. A company that has to 'talk' about culture (incessantly) does not have a culture. Culture is founded and built on deeds, not words.1) "culture" is corporate doublespeak for not paying industry standard wages and bonuses. When was the last time you paid your mortgage or grocery bill with "culture"?
2) When entresto hit $3B in sales, they sent the reps a backpack. Not a check, a backpack. Let me guess, a " culture-builder", right?
3) Lots of people don't get out of bed anymore. Lazy, meaningless braying about "culture" won't motivate anyone, and it's shameful that senior management refuses to acknowledge it. Quiet quitting is rampant in CRM because they refuse to pay adequate bonuses.
4) What senior management can't understand is that the insulting "culture" lectures are actually counterproductive. You want engaged, active field activity? Pay people.
You sound kinda kinky. Let’s meet at panera bread.I’ve got the POWER, it’s gettin, it’s gettin. It’s gettin kinda hectic. Oh Snap.
That’s the theme for Vegas. PoWEr.You sound kinda kinky. Let’s meet at panera bread.
