Your mother called and said it's time to logout of CafePharma and start looking for a new job now. There is a glimmer of hope with a new contract (I think it's already cancelled, though). I really love this thread but I'm getting concerned that you have become obsessed and may need some medical help like I did. It's okay to comeback on a regular basis and update us on your progress. I'm in therapy myself trying to cope with my issues with the denial that this contract is actually over. Just think of the movie "A Brilliant Mind". I can't believe it was all in my head! I mean, I couldn't accept the fact that my fantasy world was only that...one amazing dream. It felt so real these past couple years. I found myself unable to log off and get back to my family. The sun-filled puffy white clouded skies were just figment of my imagination. It felt soooooo real.....I am soooo sad..... I've missed so much! Oh, how big my kids have grown......wahahahawahwwwwwaaaaaaaaahhhhh

I think its hard to get past 6122 (even though I'd bet most people have either other pharma jobs or doing something outside pharma now) because it was not just a good job but a GREAT job. I'm only speaking from my experience on it for 3 years but I had the best DM I've ever had: no undue pressure or dumb coaching sessions, small territory and fair pay with a bonus each q. Plus, Humalog was an easy sell since its the same as Novolag. All you had to do was bring in a ton of education material for the office and be nice to them.

I've been with several other companies and sold around 10 different products in my career and most of them are either "me too" products with bad coverage or just garbage to begin with. Plus, Lilly was a pretty cool company as far as training and having little stress (and more fun) while there.

My district was filled with cool people that I didn't mind hanging out with during meetings, we actually had fun together. Most other teams are not like that at all.

And to top it all off, I got to keep the mini fridge! It still keeps my beer cold for those days when I need a couple of cold ones.

I agree with this poster. I really enjoyed the project and had a great deal with success.

I agree it was a pretty good gig. The majority of the DM's and reps on the contract were competent and fun to work with, also.
Unfortunately, our district drew the short straw and had a pain-in-the-ass DM. Overall, though, it was pretty solid. Well, except for No Tolerance Jimmy and Spreadsheets Carl...but that's a given! lol.

So, is the new Diabetes contract really cancelled? It is strange how Quintiles seemed to be getting all the contracts a few years ago and now losing them to other companies. Of course, maybe that was just D. Urinal telling everyone how many contracts they were signing on a conference call...and then never coming to fruition. "Take care of today and tomorrow will take care of itself"....Whatever Danny Boy!!!!!!

Ya gotta love 6122'ers. this thread started back on 4/12/2010 and we have all swung our clubs tenaciously at this dead horse ever since. Skills we arguably used to beat another dead horse, humalog. Jimmy, Carl, and Danny should have found a spot for everyone from 6122. Its Qs loss, we did not quit on them. And I still can not get rid of these friggin 2.5s.

All very true!
