Anesthesia and Emergency Positons

I am interested in the new positions that have been created for calling on Anesthesia and ED/ fire departments. Is this a long term position? It seems to take sales/ opportunities away from the full line reps. Can anyone tell me the pay structure for the position and the background needed. Thanks!

There is RARELY an overnight, only for NSM's, but certain territories can have 3-4 hour drives to get to some hospitals. Some territories are small (Los Angeles, NYC, etc), but prosperous, and some are pretty big (Arizona, Louisiana, TX, etc). Great products, but no disposable solutions, so everything must be sterilized after use (down time, equipment loss/damage, etc). Entry level, but probably the best entry level position. The training is some of the best in the country. Hope this helps.

Just a thought before you jump in feet first (like I did). All of the reps were told (promised) it would be a $125k-$150k minimum starting 1st year and skyrocket from there... Ummmm, no. You'd be lucky to maybe make $75k-$80k at plan. Just an FYI.

This is a very true statement. I left that part out (my bad). We were certainly promised $120 (minimum) but more around the lines of $140-$150k+. It's more like the $80k range for sure.

Is the Anesthesia division in Storz still around? Haven't seen anything new from them in a really long time... Just curious if that division folded yet or if they finally wisest up and got a disposable solution like the rest of us.

Who stalks Cafe Pharma at 2:21 am? Get a life.

Airway isn't going anywhere... despite your narrow minded view on disposables.

Um, someone like me... Who lives on the West Coast... Where it was 11:21pm. This is an EST time zone board, buddy. It was a legitimate question, since my last 4 trials had docs and techs that only wanted a disposable solution (they must be narrow-minded :) I Only see McGrath and sometimes the Ambu rep. Just a question, that's all.

Good thing there is more than the OR in a hospital chump.. Don't worry your one trick pony will be rendered useless in the near future. Have fun causing soft palette injuries to patients with the hunk of junk you call a blade.

You saw Ambu scope before? I always thought they were a myth. Kind of like dragons and unicorns.

Ambu has the disposable Flexible Scope. I've got 7 accounts with these scopes stocked up... Joint Commission is limiting most small hospitals to disposables now. One of my accounts let me look at the Ambu Disposable Flex... A lot more slick than you would think... Great deflection, great optics, finds the airway (which is simple even with DL). We need a product like this that does not cost $5k to repair/exchange... Hospitals are catching on kinda quick.

Anesthesia is doing fine as an emerging market, just need better marketing and support from the executive team.
