Ameritox

When Ron Backer and Mark Pace ran the show, it was a decent lab, though a bit misguided. Put way too much validity and stress on the Rx Guardian, which is at best is completely sketchy. The Rx "technology" was patented back in 1994, ask yourself the simple question why in all that time can it NOT BE VALIDATED? And essentially EVERY peer review piece discredits the technology as being even remotely accurate. Its OK not to drink the coolaid. Just sell on the necessity of performing urine drug monitoring/confirmations and stop selling on the snake oil.

Obviously you have not seen the launch of the new RxGuardianCD....the new and amazing use of a compliance data base from a pain clinic up north where all previous RxGuardian methods have been dropped and there are no longer ranges on the reports but bell curves with standard deviations.

When Ameritox originally started, it was a mom & pop operation; serving a very limited area. No structure, no quality, nothing. It has grown into a real corporation and is fine tuning their vision. It has its flaws but it will make a huge impact in the healthcare industry. I no longer work there because my numbers didn't cut it....I hate SALES. I'm a lover night a fighter.

You know, I've read a lot of posts about a lot of people who hate their jobs at a lot of places on this website. Believe me, I understand. I want to leave mine. Just curious, I may be sorry I asked, but I have a phone interview with Ameritox for the Tennessee region, and I'm curious if anybody knows anything about the sales management? I've read some interesting things about other areas--idiots who come from the office equipment industry, managers scratching their balls during interviews. I would love any feedback from employees who have recently worked at this company. Thanks!

Unless you are unemployed and have been for a year without hope of finding a job then keep on looking. Have you not read any of the threads on Ameritox? Almost EVERY single one talks about quotas that would be impossible to meet, 50% turnover and micromanagement. Is that what you are looking for in your next employer? How do you think it will look on your resume to hired and fired so quickly? Trust me, keep on looking. Almost no one makes bonus and its NEVER as much as they promise when they hire you. Your post reads as if you currently have a job. I can't possible imagine leaving anywhere to come here. I'm looking to leave as fast as I can and I am not a bottom dweller. What does it say about a company when someone doing well is wanting to leave. Think about it.

Terrible company. The worst place I have ever worked. I am looking to leave as well. It has hurt me to have the Ameritox name on my resume. Only take this job as last resort and then keep looking. That's what everyone else does. They have a large turnover rate. Most of the managers are young and have no clue what they are doing.

Douglas Gourlay, MD, MSc in this month's AACC Newsletter:

The Complexity of Interpreting Results

Opportunities abound for misinterpreting test results, from analytical issues to a host of factors that influence the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination of drugs. Examples of the latter include drug-drug and drug-food interactions, and the patient’s body mass index, age, genetic polymorphisms, and renal and liver function.

“There are so many variables up in the air that to use quantitative testing as a way of sorting out who is or isn’t complying with treatment, is something I couldn’t support scientifically or clinically,” said Gourlay.

Complicating result interpretation further, pain prescriptions often give patients leeway in adjusting the dosage or dosage frequency depending on their level of pain. Recently, algorithms have been proposed to account for some of these factors and extrapolate dose adherence, but experts suggested such approaches are not ready for primetime just yet.

Are there any current employees on this board? Is it a good place to work, can you meet quotas in reason????? Does any one know the Regional and his mgmt style? thanks for any help, I have an interview soon

Hey. Did you get any info about Ameritox? I am interviewing for TN area too. Do you know if these comments are legit? thanks so much

Retention, Retention, Retention. Ameritox has none. That is why there are so many job openings. Like me, the people that are here are unhappy and looking to leave. If you make it to a face to face ask about why there is an opening. This position will do nothing but harm your resume with a short time of employment. Take as a last resort, do not put on your resume and continue looking.

WOW! Not a nice response! To answer your question, sales reps typically make a base salary between 60-80 K a year (depending on experience) with a 20-25% bonus/commission opportunity + a monthly car allowance that is usually about $450 / $500 a month.

Mean people like the comment above need to have find new hobbies than cussing out strangers on this website. But to other comment, actually now new reps are hired around $50k base. Mike doesn't want them coming on board for the base salary, it makes them hungrier to sell.
