Alkermes Medical Insurance

Hello! I've never posted here before but am considering a job with Alkermes and would appreciate someone telling me who is your medical insurer? (not pbm but medical). I have a child who will need a surgery at some point and, yes, taking this position is dependent on the specialist I am already lined up with accepting my insurance.

I've googled around but turned up nothing.

Thanks in advance :)

Ask your hiring manager. They have that information readily available.

Hey asshole.....you, poster #6.....

not that I owe you anything, but just to put a spotlight on your ignorance (and assholeness), I have been invited to the panel IV next week, so yes, have made it that far. I was attempting to gather this information PRIOR to going, AS A COURTESY, so as to NOT waste anyone's time because taking this job DOES hinge on my child's future surgery being covered. Yes, I could have asked the hiring DM, however, one might compare it to asking what kind of company car is offered (or how much allowance). I didn't want to risk detracting the DM from my interest in the position with a question about benefits as they would NORMALLY not matter and OFTEN turn DM's off. My child's new diagnosis has changed that.

I've referred to cafepharma from time to time throughout my 10+ year career and often found the information I sought, however, always, without fail, encounter asshole like comments such as yours and I wonder, what is it that makes some people so mean, and especially, so stupid? Even more, how pitiful that you care to even take the time to be such an asshole....more pitiful is that you HAVE the time?

Thank you again #4 as I also got confirmation from some friends who went to panels in ATL last week and received the benefit information referenced by the asshole above :)

Hope this is the last time I feel the need to post on CP again.....sheesh!

Bless you!
They should call cafepharma website assholes only!

Blue Cross Blue Sield of Massachusetts PPO. A very good plan.
Insurance has become a very important part of your benefit package for your whole family in this new health care environment. I wanted to know and asked for my own benefit. I have passed on recent offers because their health care package was horrible and a serious illness with any of my family members would have left us financially devastated.
Good luck for for me Alkermes is showing value in their employees both now and future by offering such a good package.
Hope to see you in training.

Well stated. I don't understand why folks are so angry on this site. I guess anonymity makes being a smug dick too enticing.

Oh, please. I'm an asshole for telling you the TRUTH? I didn't think I could use smaller words to explain it to you - you will be wasting no ones time as they hand it to you. But I'm sure your friends told you that - the ones you knew had panels but you couldn't wait to get answers from. You are doing no one a courtesy by asking CP questions about bemefits - have you read any of the replies on cafepharma? Not exactly a board to get truthful answers from - especially if the answers you are seeking would have that huge of an impact on your family. What you are doing is showing your true character by name calling and lying (1st post "this is my first time posting" 2nd post "everytime I post in my 10+ years people are mean to me"). What you should have done is read my answer, thought to yourself "gee I have friends who have a panel this week, how nice of this person to tell me they will get all my answers", and called your friends.

Best of luck to you. I'm sure everyone who reads cafepharma and goes to training will be eager to meet the angry poster with the sick child requiring surgery. Be careful what you post moving forward as you have disclosed information about yourself that no longer makes these posts anonymous (even someone as "stupid" as myself figured that out, so I'm sure I didn't need to tell you... But just incase).

"referred to cafepharma from time to time" does not constitue that I ever posted before, because I never had until now. I've always found the answers I sought without needing to post. Despite your assholeness, I may post again as I got exactly the information I wanted because the MAJORITY of people are reasonable and kind. You, asshole, (and your fellow minnions who troll CP daily looking for people to bully behind your cowardly anonymity) are not and I don't care if my identity is revealed at a later time point because I am not angry nor inaccurate in my assessment of you. And anyone reading this thread probably agrees. It's you who may want to stay anonymous. I'm sure you will be fervently trying to figure out who I am because my guess is that you attack people on cafepharma daily and take pleasure in riling people up and then figuring out who they are.

I would have thanked you had it gone something like: 'if you know anyone who went or is going to the panels before you, they have the benefit info'. Instead, you accused me of lying "obviously you didn't make it that far"...... blah, blah, blah, because you're an ASS. It's that simple.

I'm done here now. Ciao :)

I'm glad you got the answers you wanted. Btw, we have United here not BCBS. Good luck basing your decision on answers from cafe pharma.

good idea to check. many companies offer shit insurance.
in many cases if you have a family you are spending over 10,000 in copays and co insurance and deductibles.
companies should be ashamed to offer suchshit insurance.

Not everyone is desperate and despite an industry diluted by young and inexperienced reps, (my guess the possible case of the smug dick on this thread who more than likely left the prior 2 posts) who have no clue just how much seasoned reps with solid track records, even today, are able to negotiate. For those of us in this segment who currently have a decent job, benefits most definitely can be the dealbreaker or dealmaker. Laid off, desperate former reps have zero to lose so nothing is relevant other than getting the job. I turned down a really good job a few years back due the company wouldn't match my 4 weeks vacation. Naw, not going backwards, my time off is precious and has been earned. This little mindless and desperate punk is exactly what's gone wrong in this industry. They're slowly getting weeded out. This guy probably doesn't have a job.

OP, sounds as though you have confirmed the insurance, it IS BCBS. Good luck

Basing jobs off of number vacation days is always smart. You earned that right Mr/Ms Entitled. You won't be in this industry much longer.

People are misguided and distracted. Alkermes is hiring reps to launch a new product.
Focused reps "good reps", work at least 50 hours a week for the 1st year.
Good reps postpone vacations to be successful.
If you have a situation that gets in the way, be fair with yourself, your family and the company.

Well naive young person, I've lasted over 30 years and only need (want rather) another 2 so I think I'll be ok. You see, youngen, since it appears you live under a rock, it's not entitlement, it's an earning. a payback of sorts. for hard work, loyalty, performance, etc. there is a difference that many of your generation are unable to differentiate due to this entitlement society that has taken our nation (and mentality of you young folk) hostage. I'm not going to boast and post my record of success, but I will be damned first before I'm going to step back to three weeks vacation (what a 25 year old brand new rep is hired on with) when I have put the time in to reach executive level, done multiple home office stints, etc. that have earned me 6 weeks at this juncture. Of course, when you're like me, a new opportunity is an option vs. a need, so, I have that liberty to decline based on vacation, or anything else I don't like about a pending offer. You will never know the comfort in that unless you quickly change your attitude.
