You act as though having principles and having a good work/life balance are mutually exclusive. You are wrong. I know of nobody at Novartis who works late into the night or misses their kids events. Our jobs are great and regardless of how you want to portray Novartis... two wrongs NEVER make a right. I do the right thing because it is the right thing. Using perceived bad behavior by others as a justification for your own bad behavior is just PATHETIC!!!

No I have not indicated they are mutually exclusive. I have indicated NVS won't extend any difference to those that bust their butt vs those that have not. I have survived several layoffs over the years and have been shocked at the number of Reps I personally knew worked far harder and were out in the field far more extensively than I ever was. Some had overall better percentages, penetration, reach and frequency, growth volume etc etc than mine...although mine then and now were nothing to sneeze at.

The point being - a better work ethic doesn't keep your job. Frankly I am at a loss as to what does matter with NVS, considering I'm still here after 25 years.

Actually I have no problem with anyone doing the "right thing". Just understand it doesn't matter to NVS one way or the other. Well maybe you can't find anyone that would admit that it doesn't publicly, but when it gets down to letting people go - NVS won't let a better work ethic get in the way of saying good bye.

NVS wants this to be a part time job. The managers in Hem/Onc know you can't see anybody except at lunch - which is why we have so much "access" money.
