A. Gorsky's quote on reducing pension costs

I have heard that Gorsky was quoted as saying that he will reduce J&J's pension costs, but can't find the quote. Does anyone know when and where he said it? It will "ahem" help many of us older ex-employees.

If you are an ex employee it does not effect you. The design of the plans when you left/were terminated are the terms that are in effect. If you were over 55 at the time, you may start taking early payments at a reduced rate. Under 55, you must wait until 65 receiving whatever the plan dictated.

This rumor is everywhere in record time!!! Where can that information be found? Was it at a stockholders meeting? Have any attorneys names come up to represent the current employees? It certainly sounds like Gorsky just screwed all the current JnJ employees in a big way. I guess when you can't increase sales to meet your over blown forecasts you can spank the people that you just screwed with low bonus from your shit forecasting. I just love how American CEOs over promise, ruin companies, screw over tens of thousands of workers and walk away with $200million in parting packages. Why should jnj be different?

Lots of lawsuits. Once the Morono hit town, the pressure started to get rid of people 50 and over for my academic friends. Even if you vested for a pension, it increases dramatically over the final few years, so they get rid of over 55s also. All I can say is that many JBI friends have called me discussing what to do next because their bosses have become irrational - going on successful ride alongs just to get a terrible review, creating impossible situations and then criticizing you when you don't meet the crazy criteria, and much, much more. JBI is getting rid of over 50s, and making sure to do it a bit differently every time, so they won't get a class action suit like 15 years ago. The managers know this is an action item, but so far none has become a whistle-blower. Too bad, because with the number of people already driven out, the whistle-blower would make enough to retire, instead of selling his/her soul for a few more years at JBI.

We know this starts from the top. That is why we want Gorsky's quote.

A couple of reps burned that crew and are actually retired and living comfortably. My friend basically played his RBD, DM and an NSD, who thought they had him. We can all do the same and trump these punks.

They likely deserve it. How much does Gorsky make a year? What will his pension be ? Deferred Comp?
Benefits package? Does it include a private jet and secretary ?

Many of the district managers, 45, 50, will get the same hand they are dealing to employees. They are just too naïve or stupid to see it. The company can do whatever they want with their pension. If their want to avoid liability they can offer a reduced lump sum or whatever else they can come up with. This company will do what is best for them and not you. It always has and it always will. In the meantime, live the pain.

I know a rep that recorded all the interactions with directors and managers and could have really collected and ruined these jackasses. They didn't though. They just left and got a better job. I would have fragged their butts. They got really lucky!

But it might have helped his pension or severance package. Youtube it.

It is funny how they tell us not to whine UNLESS it happens to them and then suddenly they lead the whine.

I don't know if it's just a crazy couple of women from New England, but they've been calling people all week talking about these rumors. Maybe they're just rumors? I think that they know they are under Marti's microscope so they want other people to mess up so they look good (but there's not really a chance of them looking good. They are so haggard from their miserable attitudes.) So keep the faith in Alex and Marti, and don't listen to gossips.

OMG. would this over 50 fat dude quit posting shit about the NW. So what they hired a young kid to manage you. Your posts are as clear as that girdle and spray tan you whip out for meetings along with a gallon of old spice aftershave. Fukien moron.

This is a real event that happened and effects everyone that isn't a Director level. The organization should kill the pension, payout what has been earned and move forward without the sham of "yes you make less but you get a pension". I smell another class action coming.

I think you're right on it being the fat dude, but you have the wrong region. He's the guy calling out the crazy women he has to work with in the NE region. I know the dude and he is surrounded by nut jobs and he's sick of them. His DM isn't a young kid, but a cool guy who also has to deal with his share of crazy across the board. But what these guys know is that the NE region has been promised that they will not be effected, as you say, because the long term reps are the only ones who can get into the inaccessible states there. Then numbers across New England are exploding, and docs are flocking to dinner programs and even bringing the whole staff with them around the Holidays so everyone will be pumped to use our products after New Years. And they produce even when they are seeing the docs once or twice a year. Marti knows who the players are, and they aren't in the NW!

Aren't most of the male JBI reps in the northeast fat? More specifics, please!

The rest of the country should have done what we did in New England this summer. We issued THE ALEX CHALLENGE to Mr. Gorsky, daring him to come ride with any one of us for three days where he would be guaranteed eight hours filled with sit-down full details with the top docs in our territories. Our managers told Marti to tell Alex that he could even come on a day before or after a 3-day holiday weekend, and we would still have him busy all day. You know what? He never came. And this is why. He knows that any reps that would challenge him to do this must be THE BEST. So he told Marti to leave that region alone and focus on shaking up the other regions instead. But we still say to him: THE ALEX CHALLENGE is still on. We have a lot of holidays coming up. WE CHALLENGE YOU TO COME TO OUR TERRITORIES AND SEE HOW THE BEST ONES GET IT DONE, MISTER GORSKY.

You people are pathetic

Call us whatever you want, but now Alex Gorsky also knows the meaning of Boston Strong! Marti knows it, and the Alex Challenge put him in his place. When you show your confidence to management they love it and want to be on your side! While all you other turkeys are crying over the holidays we will be celebrating another fabulous year in New England and looking forward to dominating at POA I !

Still, back to the point - anyone know of where we can find the quote where Gorsky says he will reduce pension costs?

Also, any manager ready to be a whistleblower? Unless they have evidence and not just testimony, we probably need 2. It is obvious that the managers have been instructed to get rid of the pension-eligable or soon-to-be-eligable people to reduce costs. JNJ has been really good about using different strategies to avoid another class action lawsuit, which means a healthy level of coordination throughout the sales force. If there are a couple managers who are ready, post here that you are interested and we can post the top law group that is putting all these firings together so you can contact them. Let's see - average 3 years lost wages times 50 people (including lost pension) = $50M or so, before penalties. 10% = $5M for the whistleblower. Good work if you can get it.
