6594 ?

Recruiter told me J&J is insisting on only looking at people with >50% cardiologists on their current call list. Once he found out I did not meet the 50% requirement, he said he couldn't talk to me further. He said most of the candidates he has spoken with have from 15 to 30% cardiology on their lists.

First of all, there are not many reps in most areas who have 50% or higher cardiologist call lists. Plus, what cardiology specialty rep will leave their permanent position for a two year contract? The recruiter agreed with me that they are not going to find many who meet these requirements, but he says J&J sticks to their guns.

The "Permanent" Cardiology Specialty Rep who would leave their "Permanent" position is one who has survived several rounds of layoffs with another looming over their head. It may also be one who looks at this opportunity to launch a product and be in the role for the next two years as a much better option than their current situation...again with a downsizing looming. There is also an abundance of CV Specialty reps recently downsized who may be a great fit.

i spoke w/ a recruiter last week. i don't meet this requirement, but the recruiter i talked to didn't say anything at all about this to me. i moved on and will be doing the phone assessment tomorrow...

J&J and Abbott have to be the two worst run pharma companies out there! They are ridiculously picky, put candidates through the ringer, give you the run around during the interview process and will barely look at even the most qualified candidates. It is truly unbelievable that people think this contract job is that great that they would put up with this bullshit. Yes, the job market sucks for pharma reps but you know what, there are jobs out there and there is something called pride and dignity. If you take either of these contracts, you will never have either of those again.

listings pulled in my area, too. just did phone screen yesterday. must have pulled them today as they were still up yesterday.

Chill out. Postings get pulled and re-posted frequently. In many cases where this occurs, it usually involves re-wording the posting or updating the criteria. In order to accomplish that, a posting comes down, adjustments made and reposted.

thanks for the info. new to the contract side of things. postings back up in my area, too. you are exactly right. the criteria was changed...

Just received email instructing me to conduct either an online DDI 45 minute assessment, OR a phone 1 hour assessment, my choice.

Any opinions as to which you would choose, and why?

OK, have you done the phone assessment? Any thoughts?

6 questions, STAR format. i thought they were pretty easy to answer, however, i have not heard anything back yet. i was told i would hear back either way but wasn't given a timeline for a response.

and i'm sure you were told that this contract hasn't even been signed yet, so nothing is official yet.

good luck!

i wrote the above answer and wanted to clarify. not so much full STAR as just situation and action. they give you 6 situations and you tell them what you would do in said situation. (so no task/no result aspect since you aren't giving examples of actual situations you've dealt with). hope that helps.

Yep, 6 selling scenario questions. Didn't seem that hard, but who knows what they are looking for.

Re: 6594 interviews

anyone going to Orlando for interviews next week, and please post
tips on what they are looking for from this contract/assignment?

Not in that area, but passed the assessment, received email from recruiter yesterday that they are working out interview dates/times, etc.

Do you have an interview scheduled?
