2024 car options?

You'll get either a used Altima from the rental pool at Hertz that's been completely beat to hell, or a used Altima from a recently diaplaced rep that's been driven through mud and banged against the curb in fits of anger.

Wheels and Hertz share the same parent company. Lots of these cars come from there.

Everyone got an Altima even when we were raking in all that covid money. We’re broke now. We have always had the crappiest car selections in the industry. Actually, there are no selections other than a few car colors.

Amazing reps still ask this question, every year. Promise you the selection is available on the internal website of your company based on your position. Look it up!!

I remember when PFE, had a pilot program 15+ years ago offering a car allowance plus gas reimbursement. It was amazing, only limitation was Original MSRP had to be less than $40K. Total freedom of choice, except no convertibles. I got a two year old Top of the line Lexus, best car I ever had in 20+ year career and PFE covered the cost.

What surprised me was how many people didn't take advantage of it.

Professionals actually asked questions Like: I have to pay for insurance, where and who pays for the service, How to I pay for it (cash/auto loan), what if I leave the company. Who can drive it.

How did these people function outside of having a company car.

Amazing

I'll say the quiet part out loud: we really had to lower the bar for entry when we went from 2 divisions when I started in the OLD, and I mean OLD days of early 1990s, to I-cant-even-remember-how-many-divisions just 6 or 7 years later. My Phase II class had alumni from military academies and schools like Michigan, UNC, and Cornell. We had an ex-nurse, a high school science teacher, and an entrepreneur. One or two Junior Military Officers rounded out the class.
When we went to the more is better approach, we had to cast a wide net. That's when the Tuesday to Thursday, 10-2 lifestyle started. And we became rife with people that you described in your post.

We have had altimas since 2012. Not gonna change. In the 2000s, we had at least a couple of options and all were American cars. You had your choice of a Ford/Mercury, Dodge/Chryler, etc. and if you won a VPC/ Summit, you got an upgrade to manager level car. Ahhh, the good old days.

That's a problem. TG can't squeeze into an Altima!

I just saw Consumer Reports listed the Altima as the vehicle having the least satisfied customers in the U.S....lol. Dead serious

I have been at a device company that did this. The problem with it is that large territories put a huge number of miles on their vehicle basically destroying any value the vehicle had. That may be why more people don't do it.

I know that this rant is off topic but here goes:
I wouldn't be too surprised that after Eliquis LOE, we imitate real rare disease companies and drastically cut head count and increase the size of territories. I really think that would help save the company if and only if they keep the best and brightest.
However, since this is Pfizer even if they implemented such a tactic, they would never keep the strong, strategic and smart. Sycophants and chums of the C Suite would be the Presidents and VPs of marketing and sales. And due to the soon-to-be-patented Pfizer poor leadership trickle down strategy, the mediocre and poor performing pals of those higher on our org chart will be kept.
Rinse-wash-repeat.

This company will look drastically different in the next 3-5 years. I believe when the Eliquis contract is up, we will eliminate IM and give the responsibility to Neuroscience to hold on to the Nurtec franchise in anticipation of a potential obesity drug. I think we will be comprised of Onc, Vaccines, Rare Disease and I&I. All of these BUs have high $$$ meds in their bag and comprises 100% of our pipeline.
It would be a significant cost reduction based on the size of IM which will be necessary with the LOE of Eliquis.
