Endo has a higher base (not double btw) because inc reps can make much more on variable comp. Endo reps can't grow their business as much because their business is based on contracts and there is limited growth since they only have 5 or 6 accounts each.

Sorry but the idea that Endo reps only have 5-6 accounts each is untrue. The endo reps territories are based on their overall base of business. On average, an Endo rep's territory is around 5-6 million. So, depending on how many accounts it takes to make up that base of business, it could take 7, 10, or 18 accounts per territory. Personally, I haven't met any reps that only have 5-6 accounts. If they do, it must be because they own a few of the super tanker accounts in the nation like a Cleveland Clinic which pushes their territory base to 5-6 million with just one shop.

Funny, I've never met an Endo rep who with 18 accts.

If a company was downsizing, why would they not let go of the higher base reps? With lower base and higher variable, the company wins. Reps get paid when the company gets paid. Pruden is big on variable comp, watch out Endo. The gravy train may be ending. You'll have to start producing again to make money

Hey Larry Literal, you're missing the point of the post. Regardless of how many accounts it takes for the Endo rep to hit the target of 5-6 million dollars of base sales, the bottom line is that their territories are based on overall dollar volume and not the amount of accounts.

I threw out 7, 10, and 18 as an example of how many accounts it may take to hit the dollar volume. If you want to nit pick on my example of 18 accounts, that's cool but you're missing the point.

I am a suture rep and I will tell you from first hand experience that it is a tough job. This is my 7th year and the past two have been difficult. I don't know about the rest of you but I'm in the OR every day and in cases-hernias, CABG, hip and knees. We don't get paid on suture as much as you think we do- yes we get paid to convert to antibacterial but that's all and it takes a year or so to make that sale. I'm sick and tired of endo reps thinking we don't do anything everyday. Unlike you guys, we have 20 accounts per rep not 5. Feed someone else your bs because people work hard here and get paid well. I made a little less than 70 for Q1 and we all know first quarter is slow.

70 as in $70 right? Work hard doing what, protecting your Chromic Gut suture line? Oh boy , "Mommy, I saw an open heart today and there was a lot of blood coming thru these lines and I really really really love my job." Who cares who works harder you imbecile. Why argue with EES ? They are dropping like flies at KFC zapper machine. How old are you? 19? Get paid well one year then carry your high quota. BTW, what flavor Kool Aid did your unqualifed manager serve you?

Wow, resort to name calling? I love internet tough guys. You got me, sitting behind your computer acting tough. You seem pretty defensive and are quick to get personal.

I forgot, you guys are so advanced that you had to rely on endo last year to sell your tacker.

The suture team could be replaced by a call center and no one would notice.

Oh wait, who would pass out those knot tying boards to the surgeons? Maybe the suture side is needed..

Better yet who would help the nursing staff set up their suture racks?????
