Nearly 30 people in IT were let go last week. We're all burnt out with low morale and struggling to keep our heads above water. Oh, but don't worry, Exact just hired a new VP for I&O.
That'll fix things.
 
















This is only the beginning. Perhaps we can throw more money into MCED, with GRAIL at least 5 years ahead of us. I'm sure that will solve the problem. Or how about CRCb, 2 years from FDA submission, 5 years from any actual automation that might be needed to test the record number of samples that will apparently flood in. Can't even get CG 2.0 off the ground, which is a minor test change. Classic peter principle here. Everyone promoted to their level of incompetence because exact is afraid to hire quality applicants externally. Just hire some more fresh grads, maybe that'll solve the problem. The definition of insanity; keep trying the same thing hoping for a different result.

What is CRCb? Genuine question. Years ago, the idiot Jorge Garces couldn't even define which cancer they wanted to design the MRD assay for. They hired all the support personnel and staff around the 'MRD' test, including the program manager, but no one could answer which cancer type they were hired to support the MRD assay for. What do you - they even branded this 'hypothetical' test, called it the oncodetect. Lol. Have they made any progress in at-least deciding which cancer they were going to go after, with the MRD? Not that I see Exact Sciences put out a successful assay, but I'd be impressed if the clueless Jorge Garces knows what he is doing after all these years. Truly, pathetic.

It's a blood based CRC test, only meant to detect late stage CRC. Zero advantage over CG as there needs to be sufficient DNA from circulating tumor cells or exosomes to be able to detect it. Highly probable at those stages it would show up on imaging and the patient would probably already display symptoms.
