I guess the gals are large and sensitive.
Overly...on both adjectives......with no sense of humor...

Stop trying to speculate what the big guys are going to do. There is a plan and only a few know the details. We will not know until they want us to know. There will be plenty of people from Zimmer and Biomet that are let go. As far as distribution..only time will tell how they are going to merge everything..one thing is for sure..there will be big changes for both companies..doesn't matter who you work for
Looks like the conversations around future US sales leaders and territory boundaries are beginning to take place. Buckle your seats belts, folks. This is going to be fun to watch over the next few months. They shared earlier that decisions have already been made and boundaries were drawn based on organizational leadership strengths, market dynamics, sales volume and historic growth. They (Z/B Corporate Sales) really don't know who owns the surgeon relationships nor have they had conversations with their sales leaders to understand potential impacts resulting from their decisions. While there's significant risk, those making these decisions will be assessing these impacts as discussions begin and decisions are announced. Mistakes will likely be made. Watch, listen and enjoy the show. Good luck to all of you and Happy Holidays.
Word on the street (which is all there is since the suits aint talking) is 20% headcount cut across both companies. Think about it - two companies about the same size that do the same thing merging into one company! And the EU may force them to sell parts off. 20% may be optimistic.Let the firings begin!

Seriously - if you have less than five years or your boss has stopped talking to you, you should think about your options. It will not be pretty despite all the BS propaganda they are pumping out in the newsletters and announcements that really don't say anything.
Zimmer loves to work as a skeleton crew anyway. Any additional Biomet people will be looked at as bloat; whether or not the better of the bloat will be kept or if there is a preference one way or another to Z or B people remains to be seen. Cuts though? Definitely. This merger is ALL about "redundancies and efficiencies" anyway. Don't forget that. For sure polish that resume regardless of what side of the fence you are on. You're doing your family a disservice if you don't at least take some proactive steps.
You guys are all idiots!!! The power is with the rep period. The reps who can control their business regardless of B or Z will stay, the tagalongs will be toast Z has proved a complete disregard for who is running the branch or agency look at south florida for zimmer
weak reps will not make it reps with marginal business will not make it
as santa for astroglide in your stocking this year it will help
Thank you, Captain Obvious!Everyone should take a deep breath for a moment. Having been through the M/A wars many, many times in my career, and having been kept and having been tossed out, all I can tell you is I learned one very important lesson...
You have no control over what the company will do about anything, especially your job/distributorship. You may be told or led to believe you are safe and the next day you are gone. It happens.
So everyone put on your big boy pants and grow up. If you think you will lose your job, then do something proactive about it and start the process of finding something new now. If you think you are safe, then put your head down and continue to work hard and be thankful.
It's called life. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. It's your choice, not the company's on how you deal with it.
Either you stand to lose, or you are a manager somewhere. Probably the former. The sad part is that you Biomet guys are so cocky and in denial of the facts. Zimmer bought you! We will decide who gets what. Don't you think that someone has asked us our opinion? Of course they did. The local Biomet boys sell everything that you can imagine that is not Biomet. We have stuff too, but Z is the first letter in our alphabet.
The conjecture I hear is that the Biomet leadership did better in the transition because DD likes people that tell him what he wants to hear. The current (now former) Z leaders have been in their roles long enough that they can't polish the apple like someone new coming in can, so they're out.
