Multiple health systems have temporarily halted the use of Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine after a small percentage of patients experienced adverse reactions.
Centura Health in Centennial, Colo., said April 7 it temporarily closed a mass vaccination site in Commerce City, Colo., that it runs with the state after 11 people had adverse reactions to Johnson & Johnson's vaccine.
UNC Health in Chapel Hill, N.C. said April 8 it paused administering Johnson & Johnson's vaccine after a small number of patients experienced adverse reactions, according to CBS 17, a CBS affiliate in Goldsboro, N.C. It didn't specify how many. Becker's has reached out to UNC Health for more information and will update this story accordingly.
