PacBio unveils new sequencing chemistry to cut costs

PacBio (NASDAQ: PACB), a company specializing in sequencing solutions, has introduced a new sequencing chemistry named SPRQ for its Revio long-read sequencing system. This innovation, announced today, is set to reduce DNA input requirements by fourfold to 500ng per sample, allowing for a broader array of sample types, such as those extracted from saliva using PacBio's Nanobind protocol and tumor samples, to be sequenced using HiFi technology.
