Improving Drug Price Transparency: From Removing Pharmacy Gag Clauses To Reforming The Rebate System

Last month, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed two bills - Patient Right to Know Drug Prices Act and the Know the Lowest Price Act - to remove "pharmacy gag clauses." These clauses prevent pharmacists from proactively telling consumers if their prescription would cost less if they paid for it out-of-pocket rather than using their insurance plan.
