The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its coronavirus testing guidelines Friday to say people who come into close contact with a person with Covid-19 for at least 15 minutes need to be tested even if they do not show symptoms, a reversal from a widely criticized change made last month that reportedly was imposed from outside the agency.
