Zimmer Ohio went direct?

Sell them a bill of goods and promise a boatload of business and you get a distributorship ( or gm position for a year or two)]

Look at Georgia, Texas, and S Fla.!

How did those moves go Jeffy Mc?? 1 year done 1.5 years done ( hire back old d) and 1 year done

Zimmer Management has turned into a joke, believed in Joe at one time but........ morale is low, direct markets are not happy reps, hire competitors and former reps at higher salaries who do not produce see the smoke wait for the crash>>>>

pss not only Z making these moves look at tornier, smith and nephew, mako

I agree that Jeffrey Mc almost destroyed Zimmer, but I believe in Joe C. His move in Texas was epic. Zimmer Elite (Texas) has gone from to the bottom to the top 5 in 6 months under Kyle Wilson's leadership. Kyle is an old school 20+yr Zimmer guy....everybody in Texas loves him!

I don't think so.. The Tornier managers were not overbearing. The FORMER distributor was OVERRATED and INCOMPETENT.. Hard to be effective sitting at a desk.

Why were SK's sales managers not promoted to take over? If SK overrated and Incompetemt as you say, what does it say about these two?? You have no clue what it is like running a 40 million distributorship. You all think the money tree grows and all the distr does is pick it. Do it before you knock it! Collect your percentage and have no worries other than what day your check will be in.

It appears to me that Zimmer Executive Mgt. does not believe they have a deep talent pool and top shelf people or they would be promoting from within, both internally and externally aka the sales force. Since 2006 and the threat of the DOJ, ZMH has gone almost exclusively to the outside to fill mgt positions. Therefore an entirely new culture, that according to most posters, stinks.

However, the Board of Directors, shareholders and doctors who implant ZMH devices are happy or changes would be made.[/QU

1) Board of Directors have no idea what's going on in the field.
2) Stock price is not a good long-term indicator of the health of any
company. Look at the DOW and look around you....disconnect?
3) Doctors? Have you looked at our market share lately?

I would imagine if you had a crystal ball and could see five years into the future that there may only be a handful of Independent Distributors left. The systematic strategy is taking place right before your eyes.

Direct is the way to go. That way the guy at the top of the territory/former distributorship is not basing business decisions on how much it is going to hit him in the wallet

I used to be a colleague of Tom Meyer. We all admired and respected him as an individual and as a businessman. Any company, including Zimmer, would be lucky to have him on board.

I view this last post as either coming from a jealous competitor, or the former Zimmer distributor, or from the losers in Tornier management.

We can all read the negative press about Zimmer in this forum, but as an outsider, I can tell you that hiring Tom was a great move, hands down.

I agree and am a current employee for Tom and he has been nothing but a breath of fresh air. He is a no nonsense do your job type of guy or hit the road. Under the former leadership to many people were alowwed to hide behind the skirts of other people and bring nothing to the table.

I remember in a training class we were doing role plays and taking turns video taping each to play back to the class. Trudy was doing her presentation and Klabunde zoomed in on her tits for the entire video... the playback for the group was priceless!
