Zimmer Dental

OK, has anything changed in the last 18 months with Zimmer Dental? I am an ISR who is looking at this opportunity and will be speaking with HR on 1/6/12 about the Regenerative Sales Specialist position. Thanks for any information.

Talk to them. Half the crap you read on here is BS anyway. I have a friend that works for Zimmer and likes the company - says she's glad she followed through and ignored these posts. Decide for yourself.

Thanks, I will. As a matter of fact, they pushed up the call to this morning. It went well but now the hiring manager will look at my resume and what feedback HR person included. If he/she likes what they see then I will get a call from him/her in a few days. Zimmer seems to move really fast (which I like) and mentioned that they want this position filled before the end of January.

There is a lot of truth posted here about Zimmer. So, you are desperate for a job or you believe all the nonsense they are telling you in the interview process? Either way, you will soon regret pursuing this company and taking a job with Zimmer...especially in the dental division. Zimmer plays a lot of games, including the appearance of moving fast. You will be lucky to be employed by mid-year if they want you. Good luck, you are going to need it.

You may be right............then again you may be wrong. I don't know anyone personally with Zimmer but I will listen and research if/when I get a call back to talk with the hiring manager. I am not desperate for this job but I would eventually like to get into ortho and this may help me to do that. But then again it may screw me too.

Zimmer was a great company eight to ten years ago but, sadly, not anymore. The biggest problem is senior management wants annual growth that is just not attainable. No growth = miss target = $0 bonus. Simple. They will tell you all kinds of great stories about the new product pipeline, people, industry leadership, company history and so on. Garbage! By the way, all options granted in the last ten years are completely worthless, all underwater...retirement fund, hahahahaha! You can't buy a quart of milk with the money made in options. Incredibly high turnover year over year says it all. These are known facts about Zimmer, do your due diligence.

They are looking to hire someone within the territory that I live in. Has anything changed from the last post regarding the status of the products/company? What is the compensation like? Do you get a company car or an allowance? How many meetings do the reps have to attend? How many managers are there? How many reps? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. thank you

Dental is one of their strongest growing divisions. Not nearly as large as total joints, but it does extremely well in its market. It's not a surgical job with oral/cmf surgeons though, it's an in-office sales call with dentists primarily. Many different tiered structures to the comp.

If you grow with Zimmer, you will make money. The key is growth. The overall comp plan is based soley on it and there is no reward for maintaining existing business. You can spend as much time in op as you want to but your income will come from converting new business. Understanding the market and the potential will be key if you move forward. Contact as many reps as possible and you will get the good and bad. Some of the replies I've read are from people that have no idea what they are talking about and the comp plan is clearly definded. No tiers just different buckets you have to hit. That said you get paid for every bucket you hit - this is not different from other companies. If you can sell, you will start making decent money in year 2. Good reps with Zimmer make 125k - 150k in good years and 100k in lean ones. Its not easy but you will know what youre getting into before you make a decision.

Zimmer has lost most of its implant business to ID. Regen is good.

This is exactly what the other person was talking about! You dont have a clue yet youre on here tell this crap to someone who wants legit info. yes the regen business is good and NO Zimmer Dental hasnt lost most of its business to anyone. pick up a financial report dumbass or actually stick to the indusrty youre in. Either way get your facts straight.

ha, ha,ha struck a nerve there.. It is a known fact in the implant world.. ID have rolled over Zimmer, but Zimmer has great regen.. Those are the very well known facts...

The only area that ID has made a move on Zimmer is the NE and you didnt hit a never. You just have no idea what your talking about. Youre probably some newbie rep from ID who will be gone soon. Good luck!

Wow!! It seems the ID rep has made the Zimmer rep angry, Zimmer has such a turn over with it's reps what a shame.. they all seem to quit Zimmer and go to work for ID. They have seen the light and the numbers.. the old saying is if you can beat them join them is very apparent with allof the ex-Zimmer reps working for ID. The facts are the facts.. are you a Newbie Zimmer rep or one of the regional managers that was demoted because of low sales in your region? Can't wait for this response!!! btw Zimmer is a good over-priced product.. all of the doctors know that.

ID reps. are rejects that no reputable implant company will consider hiring. Or they have failed at the larger implant companies and have lowered their standards and now sporting the standerd polyester suit and hawking knock-off implant of what they used to sell.

Forget Zimmer and apply directly to ID. The former Zimmer reps that are with ID made the choice to move over to a better opportunity. The previous poster must be really hurting for the ID reps steam rolling over him. Some of the managers are been demoted back to reps because of poor performance in their territories. These are all well know facts despite what the pp has stated. If I were one of the demoted managers I would apply in a different field .. How embarrassing to DEMOTED! How could you attend another meeting?

Sounds more like an ID rep. defending his sales position. Just go to any large industry show and look at the line-up of repesentatives at the ID booth. All have been fired or outcast from a previous implant job wit a larger player. FACT!
