ZEPBound

Im thinking the same thing. Who comes up with these names? Wegovy sounds much cooler.

A doctor on TikTok said they are already training reps on ZepBound. I thought they were hiring a sales force for the weight loss side?

Well, the generic name is “TirZEPatide, so that’s where the “Zep” comes from, and “if your patients are struggling with Obesity, they are “bound” to want Zepbound”…Makes sense to me.

I work for another pharma company and we have Express Scripts as our PBM. I pay $0 for my Wegovy now. My company is changing to Optum Rx next year and Wegovy is tier 3. Lilly needs to have their Market Access people negotiate to make sure ZepBound is PREFERRED on Express Scripts. I know Lilly has never had a very great Market Access group but in order to get out of the gates fast in this highly competitive market, they better start changing their game plan to be competitive!

yeah, I agree market access needs to do much better. If you have no insurance, you must pay full price for Zepbound. Isn't that right?

do you actually think that one of the largest global pharma companies, on one of their most important launches ever, is not working on insurance coverage? Maybe you should be petitioning your company to make sure Optum has a better obesity rider for your company plans. This is a weight loss medication and even tier 3 would be pretty fair. FYI they will probably place zep at the same tier if/when covered.

Let’s face it, Lilly has always been a poor negotiator to get products on formulary! I’ve worked here 25 years and I’ve seen it with all of our medications, especially in the DBU! Novo has always kicked our butt because Lilly is greedy! Maybe we will do a better job with this launch.
