Yeah....let's keep those generics flowing!

Pay no attention to where they come from, they should be totally fine!

Only a moron would site quality problems when working for a company with hundreds of millions of $s of fines and shutting down plants of their own.

"Yea, keep those overpriced branded drugs with their known quality problems flowing" and pay no attention to where they come from or the fact that they are scumbag lying parasite companies.

40% of all drugs, brand and generic come from outside of the US.
80% of all Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, for brands and generics, come from outside of the US.
80% of drugs dispensed in the US today are generic. My guess is that is why the % of finished drug products and API coming from ex-US factories (India) are so high. It keeps the prices down. All generic manufacturers are not the same in terms of quality and the FDA doesn't get around to inspecting them every 2 - 3 years, like they're supposed to. It's like an average of 8 or 9 years, and as high as 13 years in some cases! That's why GDUFA was passed. It's the generic drug user fee act. It makes pharma companies pay the FDA to do their job, so that these plants can be inspected and ensure that drugs and API coming into the US are safe and don't have shards of glass in the Lipitor, like with Ranbaxy.

Oh gosh the classic 'Generics are the boogey man' claim..this may have been a legitimate argument 25 years ago....what about the generics Novartis makes??? guess that must be bad too.
