Xusbir (Sofosbuvir)

Ok Einstein, thanks for the tutorial on how a drug company establishes a sales force...I was hired and turned it down with no regrets. And yes, they did skim on salaries and some reps - when a KOL tells me that they're already torked off by the new Gilead rep because they act like their entitled to meet with the HCP, there is a problem. I've been in pharma/biotech long enough to figure out that staying ahead of the pack and not following the lemmings is the key to success.

I used to work at Gilead and the lemmings at Gilead are crazy rich off options, espp, etc so if you were the dumb one who stayed home to make your $20k more in salary match at your current company, you are far behind that pack of lemmings at Gilead. Did you do your research and ask current reps about these benefits- and whether salary is as big a deal as you make it out to be?

Don't answer. It's an obviose no.

PS: look behind you...that pack behind you are lemmings and up ahead?

...the cliff of stupidity. Lead on OhSmartOne. Lead on.

Is your drug really called Xusbir? coming in November?

Actually, if you had any clue to the pharma world, you'd know that staying ahead of the pack means changing diseases and not sticking it doing the same thing when 5 companies are getting into the fray. My research served me well and I won't be falling over any cliff anytime soon. Thanks for the concern

Not concerned at all. Laughing at you actually. You thought your pharma rules applied to Gilead and you were just dead wrong. If you would have stuck around at GILD for a few years you would have been looking at hundreds of thousands of $s in stock. That's a fact. I retired on it in less than a decade there.

Change disease states all you want, make your extra $20K per move every 3 years or so, and keep thinking you made the right decision. Just know you could have retired a lot earlier if your ego hadn't gotten in the way.

You are retarded if you think Gilead would "skimp" on reps by hiring inexperienced reps to save on salaries lol...simple math

Lets explore your theory...

Marginal Cost of Experienced Rep base salary: (130k/year HCV rep vs 100k/yr PCP) = $30,000/rep

150 reps x 30k per HCV experienced rep= $4.5 million/yr extra for HCV rep. vs PCP

2014 U.S. Sales ($1.7B average analyst projection x 40% U.S>) = $680 million U.S. Sales

Ratio of U.S. 2014 Sales to marginal Salary Spend: $680m/4.5m = 150X

A 150x multiplier on sales vs. marginal salary..hmmmm

Gilead did not get to be the #2 SP500 performer in the last 25 years by being stupid. With +/- $4.5m for "experienced specialty" pharma reps vs PCP reps, and +/- $68M for each relative 10% to the baseline scenario...

I am pretty damn sure GILD didn't skimp on reps or their salaries...and if you aren't intelligent enough to deduce that yourself..that explains why you lack the intelligence to get hired by GILD.

You obviously didn't read the entire post. The person said they were part of the salesforce, albeit in HBV, but same company.

I really like the name. We are going to dominate the market. Slow at first, mainly because there are not that many treating with IFN. Although every GI has one or two that are waiting for Xusbir/Xusbur? I expect the company to double estimates of 2B to around 4B.

I hate the name. We better NOT name it that.
