I’m so confused by Duane and all the other moron management on the team. So, is pcp gonna be laid off by may 1? When a question was asked about a layoff, duane said he cant give our numbers

Realistically they don’t want panic. Coming out and saying 50% reduction would cause even more chaos. Let’s be realistic, combining the field forces Card & PCP, it will be a 50% reduction, possibly more, possibly a little less. There’s no way they can keep everyone. I would have volunteered to leave.

What I learned from the call is that if you haven't started looking, I'm sure you will be now! Used to be such a great place to work. How can they expect us to go out and give 110% with all this uncertainty. If they weren't happy with Leqvio's growth trajectory since launch, just watch how it slows over the next 2 months.

My estimate is that there will be close to a 30% - 35% reduction in territories. We have approximately 1400 reps and ABLs in total. (~400 PCP and ~1000 CV) If they reduce the PCP sales force positions, reduce CV positions where there is overlap due to CVA territories and reduce other CV territories where there are too many reps in a geographical area that would add approximately another 75-100 CV positions being removed. That would leave us with around 925 total reps and ABLs. Keep in mind that we have a lot of open territories so the actual headcount might be less. However if upper management knows or even has an inclination that Entresto will loose it exclusivity this year or early next year, then the we could definitely see a 50% reduction.

50-70% total reduction when Entresto goes generic.

Leqvio doesn't need the bodies. Will never be profitable, let alone break even to pay for the $9B purchase price.

Ok so still 2 years for entresto to go generic. So maybe that’s when there will be more lay offs?

One area being cut out of 13, and PC team may be cut a little heavier than CV, but not to the amount you mention. 20 percent cut is much closer.

I think your ABLs are telling you what they think you want to hear. Honestly.. how much business do you think is generated from PCP for these products vs cv? It’s simple

Duh, but the pcp reps put in the same pool as the cv reps. CV rep competing with pcp reps for same jobs. Granted, many pcp reps have less tenure than the cv rep, but depending on the business rules used, many pcp reps will displace cv reps.
What do you expect the manager to say? It’s all control what you can, keep selling, patients need you, blah, blah.

If the business is coming from CV and the current cv reps are calling on those customers now then why would business rules put a PCP rep in that territory over existing rep w relationships and experience? I don’t see the PCP reps competing for many spots ..

Agreed. I can say that historically Novartis has cared about existing relationships when it comes to layoffs.

Stupid response. They don’t care about your relationships or tenure. They care about getting sued. If you are a pcp rep who may feel like you were discriminated against, you just may take the cv rep’s job.

That’s why they use a third party to make the decisions. So they can’t be sued! Your response is stupid! Your abl or rd have no input and when business rules are applied to accounts that the business is primarily coming from Cards then why would a PCP make the cut? They would hire the rep with the experience.. there’s no reason to sue if your not qualified for a job where the majority of the business is coming from the specialist and a small amount from high decile pcp docs. Clearly you don’t understand

Exactly. I’ve been through numerous layoffs with this company. Customer relationships is the last thing they care about. We are easily replaceable in their view. It’s all about not getting sued for discrimination. Why do think they won’t share the business rules in determining who stays and goes.

I wouldn’t count on cv having a leg up on pc. What are the rules? Geography? Cost? Those would be the top 2 imo. Sure as hell won’t be relationships.

Expecting around a 20% cut in sales considering what we are seeing via maps.

The number 1 business rule was minimal disruption to the office. They don't want to piss the offices off with a lot of new faces. Number 2 was experience call on Cardiologist/cardiology offices.
