Worst MSL organization in the industry

Seems like GNE has hit this goal with so many good people leaving both in management and ICs. Something like 75% of leadership left??? How is that normal? Morale has tanked. Same old BS about mindset on our calls. Clearly this was planned out to clean house as unqualified people have been placed in both leadership and MSL roles. Heard from people that we took the problems form other companies. What ever happened to background checks??? They must have been looking for a lot of yes men/women who can't think for themselves.

I had a great Onc MSL who did not get his job - totally ridiculous as no one was better. He was told he did not have the right mindset. What a crock? Who is making these decisions???

True.

Once a week? How about once a quarter? MSLs are going to be a thing of the past. We can do zoom calls from anywhere with lower head count. Time to call CVS.

Yes, there was deadwood in terms of MSLs and front line management that needed to go ... but let's be clear ... MSLs and Medical Affairs will never be a thing of the past. They provide valuable education and resources.

A thing of the past needs to be the TLLs on the commercial side. They are useless and drive nothing that amounts to quantifiable metrics/KPIs.

My TLL was excellent. Unfortunately, so many valuable people are gone and so many worthless people remain. There will be an impact on the business, but upper management will never recognize it or admit it. They’ll be too busy patting themselves on the back and touting fake success stories.

to be clear and direct, many Field Medical folks opted to leave and were top talent. Look at entry level talent that was hired to replace them. Barely any experience. Some have potential but with chitty leadership and a bad ecosystem environment and a pandemic, good luck with that. It’s too sad to be funny but funny indeed.

Truth ... and those top talent field medical folks left because of poor leadership hiring. No one wanted to report to some of the well known individuals who were hired in to lead the teams earlier this year.

Bottom line - leadership is the problem. PH is the worst. So out of touch with how she is perceived by everyone. She should change her last name to Mindset, her favorite word.

She lead the organization in people quitting. I guess that is why she was promoted. For those of you new to the company, you will soon realize how screwed up this place has become.

I use this as an example of a failed organization. How many times can a function reorganize in 12 years? The answer is 8 times...by GNE Medical Affairs! Every new leader is a new reorg. Insane

There are so many disturbing things about some of the MSLs who were hired, from our own Bay Area and all across the country. We talk about mindset??? Wait until their professionalism, behavior, and true lack of interest or experience is really exposed.

Heard about some of the new hires. Good luck! You will all need it. Some are the rejects that were total incompetents at their last company. Did any good field leaders stay? Pretty sad to hear that so many left in leadership. Got to wonder does senior leadership ever ask JF WTF happened to your organization??? Is PH still there? If so, then that place is really messed up.

Why is Access Solutions STILL around? They are the most unprofessional, incompetent & Non-compliant group of people, including their leadership. ASET Leads? What a joke and waste of time, they have so much down time because pretty much the Field knows what to do and if there are any questions the call the Case Managers, stop trying to create jobs that will be useless. MaryJo has provided info that is critical and should not have been released to the competitor. Also, one ASET guy appeared “high” during his Florida call, observed by a member of the call. Genentech has lost its credibility, no longer one of the best places to work.

Note to JF (the male one) - hope that was not offensive. If you need to make cuts due to stock tanking and MSLs not working, you can probably let go of half the MSL team and you won't notice a difference. The other JF is always taking about how much money she spends on MSL salaries. There are more MSLs than you need even if they were going in the field. You could then cut a good amount of the field leaders many of whom are not worthy of their title and salary. Some Onc ones would be a good start. I hear the ones in respiratory are also weak at best. PS - talk with the other JF about her hiring skills. They need work. My former manager in spectrum was good but somehow you said no - I guess it was that mysterious mindset feedback excuse so many were given.

Yea, there were several really good managers on the medical side that they passed over during the interviews (they opted to hire/keep no/low inexperience and/or LGBTQ managers). They also passed over some very qualified managers from the commercial side who applied for medical affairs management positions. Thanks JF and PH.
