Worst DM, and Division

He is AWESOME! He actually wants to help his reps succeed. He understands that if they succeed, he succeeds. Nak is also willing to help other reps in other territories with sales strategies when their own DM's will let them fail. Nak is a class act through and through. I would love for him to be my DM.

Agreed. Two ways to manage. 1) Intimidate and control because DM is and has been intimidated and controlled by life with insecure need to control. These individuals drink all the Kool Aid and simply diffuse it down. The other way is to challenge and support sales force. This is what Nak does, and it works and is verifiable. Too bad that the spineless one's who get off on empowering selves/controlling others to fill void, don't take a page from Nak.

This is total truth. Nak does support his team. I love working for him. He is one of THE most caring people I have ever worked with. He wants me to be a success, and is willing to help me get there with nothing but positive help. He is a great buffer between SLT and the sales force, and is supportive of what I do. Too bad other DM's aren't like Nak.

I feel sorry for other divisions, especially the NW Division, who are managed by threats and intimidation. Not a good way to work!

This manager sounds like one of the very few good ones. People work hard for those who show positive leadership skills and have the talent to lead people to success. It's a hard find. I hope SN is taking good care of this person....

In Ortho, they are all pretty bad. Guess that's why they are implementing the Area Business Director model again. This reduces the DM role to simply just a sales manager. Even with just that responsibility, most of these guys won't be able to get it done. Funny, this is the same model that was tried just a few years ago and it didn't work. At that time the title was Area Sales Director. Lasted less than a year and was flushed. Why do they think it will be successful this time around. Whoever takes these Area Business Director positions better keep the resume polished up and shiney.

When was this tried before? What year?

Nak is one in a million. The only people that treat him well is his sales team! We LOVE him!

Written like a DM who spends too much time on CP, and one who should be supporting his sales "team".

Haha, CP is the ideal way to tell off your boss and not get in trouble for it. Haha, classic. Im on the other side of the country and we all know which DM and what division all of this is refering too...just do your team a favor and quit...I heard corporate doesnt like you either.

I'm on the other side of the country too - I'll put it out there: Doug or Kenny. Both are passive - aggressive. Spineless, clueless, and don't know a damn thing about the business.
