Why would anyone want to go back to work here after being laid off?







To the poster who sounds so secure about getting the same severance, no one is being a pessimist, I am being a REALIST and preparing myself for possibly not getting the same package. If you want to live in a PIPE DREAM and believe EVERYTHING people are telling you then by all means GO AHEAD! Hopefully we will get the same severance, but NOTHING is a guarantee. Did you sign a contract? I don't think so. In light of what s going on in the pharmaceutical industry these days, you DON"T KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN. So call me a pessimist if you want and keep living in dream land. Oh, and by the way, their severances were taxed damn near 50%, where do you get 35%?? Get your facts right before posting BS.

Nice over use of CAPS. Do you feel you're not being heard? Are your feelings hurt? Sounds to me like you are a scared little thing and worried about your future. There are plenty of jobs out there if you have the experience and talent. My guess is you lack both.

Speaking as someone who was let go Roche/Genentech was very generous and there is life on the other side. To all of you still looking for a job keep at it good things are coming. Look outside the industry - or in a different part of it - and don't be afraid to step out and try something new. Best of luck to all.

The Question should be.. Why would anyone want to stay with a company that thought that insecure piece of crap Tim Keane was a good guy and should be retained. This guy should have been ivestigated by HR for his bullying tactics of good hardworking succesfull people. Tim Keane was once seen throwing hotdogs at baseball fans in Chicago. Nice move .. He also was seen so drunk at times with his boy from the midwest region driving from dine around to dine around slobbingly throwing money at pretty young reps who worked for him. This is just the beginning right TIM. What all the times you made your managers pay for the tip at manager dinners so you could bring home dinner to the wife and kids on the company dime. Plenty of people have seen both and more....guy is sub human. Im not bitter just better to be outside of a company that would tolerate any of his low ball tactics . Hey what about the time you kept reward money only to give it to your buddies so they could pay for your golf and nice.

Is Timmy getting nervous he may actually have to go get a job at the end of the year. So sorry you wont be a cool dude walking around Providence with your head phones on and man purse for a 5 minute walk to your favorite meeting location, so cool I am sure heads were turning wondering who that big power broker is. FBI only needs to be involved if they can arrest arrogant little men!!

ditto on post # 19. if you're re-hired into another job, your pre-termination EE status/vesting is NOT reinstated, as you become a "new" employee.. and if three months later your job is eliminated, you end up with the severance package of a new EE - basically NOTHING ! ..as opposed to the rather generous severance to which you are currently entitled based on your years and years there..
 






just spoke to another RIF's EE - they were told that if you're hired within 12 months of the term date you will be reinstated with the old tenure for all bennies - so everyone is getting mixed stories - check with the head of HR to make sure of what your case will be
 






Don't believe it. You are a new employee new salary etc unless you have a golden knight in SSF. While we are at it RF that unproven lightweight has gutted his division trats the Roche leftovers like a POS and will run the rest into the ground. O'T and his crew have no guts or power and are whippin dogs.
