Why is Mr. Schiffman still CFO at Dendreon?

Is Schiffman going to address the possible need to raise cash at the earnings call? Dilution can not be far off IMO. Last time they raised cash, they had over 200M in cash.

Schiffman was one of the executives who was publicly affirming the revenue projections of 175M-200M for the 4th quarter of 2011. IMO, it is hard to believe that his departure is not connected to the ongoing federal investigation that Dendreon filings says is happening.

JJ, Joe and the crew want everyone gone who has a history at Dendreon.

You can remove treads all day long, the facts remain.
There will be zero tolerance for ISS's that are not performing. Leadership has already told the street that it doesn't expect to see Provenge volume increases for the rest of the year. That time will be spent turning over a failed team. You have been warned. Spend your time looking for the next opportunity if you haven't already.

Management has said no such thing. Management expects sales increases this year. The company is hiring reps, just look at our website. Dendreon is the best company I have worked for in my 14 year sales career. We just reported an 8% increase in total sales with urology sales at their highest level ever and up 35% for the quarter.

Earnings call quote "we will miss the sales goal for the rest of the year", JJ
Thus, no sales increase expected. Yes hiring will continue. They will replace 14 year losers like you with someone who can sell.

ERR Wrong Highest level since launch in Uro which was near zero. You are the complete liar. There is noooo way this is the best company you have worked for unless you are a complete Jackass. 8% increase... over the worst quarter since launch. There is no way you even work here unless you are trying to save the thousands of shares Joe D promised you to come over. Spit out the Kool aid and recognize you will never make the money you were promised. Enough is Enough Check out Exel or Gale and move on...

Finally some one provides verifiable facts in a post here. Very refreshing.

Are you deaf? At the CC JJ admitted he expects no growth through the rest of 2013.

John Johnson said he expects sales to grow for the rest of the year. See conference transcript from a few days ago and supplied link:

Canaccord Genuity 33rd Annual Growth Conference Transcript 8/13/13:

John Johnson:

"That said, we have said, we expect to sales lift in the second half of this year and we'll see how the DTC campaign, some of the efforts that team has plays out. We haven't given specific guidance so on either this quarter or the balance of the year. "

John Johnson:

"We did we've always said that we expected a sales lift in the second half, yes. - "

Greg is very important.

Up until a year ago, he helped make up stuff like future sales numbers.

Now, he makes up numbers for previous quarters, like the $49M in cash burned.

I think this quarter, they will finally let him make up all the numbers as other things
haven't worked.

To the Original Poster's question, maybe it was because he was willing to make incredulous statements like the one below:

“I’m very surprised that anyone would be raising that up – that there’s a question of insolvency with the company, given the position that we’re at, the results that we’ve shown.
The question is ‘How fast does revenue grow?’ ... The last two quarters we’ve seen it grow over 20 percent a quarter that will continue to grow."

He asked the wrong question. The question when it comes to solvency is about income. The question from any learned CFO would have been when does income come and how fast will income grow.
