Why is Dr. Gold still on DNDN's BOD?

Both just drag on completely unexplained.
 












Nearly all the executive team is new and many on the BOD are new. The only executives or board members that sold the majority of their shares prior to the stock price decline are Gold and Hamm and they bought are no longer executives of the company. The rest of the executives and BOD members held the majority of their shares through the price decline. You would be far better off attacking and seeking to bring Gold and Hamm to justice and leaving the hundreds and hundreds of other Dendreon employees alone. Dendreon provides a valuable and scientifically unique cancer treatment to very ill cancer patients. Your anti-Dendreon propaganda campaign is entirely misplaced.

Just a civil question for you. Dr. Gold is currently a director for Dendreon. You seem to think he commited crimes. I would be interested to hear your opinion why they would keep Dr. Gold on the BoD. Dr. Gold is a PR nightmare, particularly since you seem to think he is a criminal. Why do you think he is still here? There are some here who think the company is shielding him because the current BoD was the BoD in place when possible crimes were committed. Do you think that is possible?
 






Simple Gold was the CEO of the company for 10 years and got Provenge approved. He has been not been convicted of any crimes and he has not been charged with crimes. There is no reason for him to be asked to leave the board. The BOD is not a legal jury. If Gold is found guilty of crimes let him rot in jail. Gold's current role with Dendreon is limited to a 15 minute conference call every three months. The bigger PR nightmare for the company is your constant barrage of lies on this board which is directly hurting innocent people.

Frozen boards are boards that meet 15 min/qtr or meets and discusses legal problems rather than business. They are curled into fetal position as they watch the ship go down.

They don't do things like align costs to current and (real) projections of
revenue. So, they keep excess capacity open for over a year and run down the assets.

So, the question isn't "Why do they let people who committed crimes on their board" but instead "How can they let the legal agendas of criminals overwhelm the core business of the board".

Board members in Aug 2011 were thinking "but if we close a facility, it will show that we weren't just exuberant when we opened them, it might be seen as the entire company being organized around our pump and dump".

That kind of thinking is whey D'Enron is D'Enron.
 






I, for one, am very glad that Gold is still a major player in this company. He made Dendreon and, while being CEO is not his strength, he offers much for the growth of this company. Mistakes (not criminal actions) were made but I and others are goving the company time to be as great as it will be.

You sad cases out there who expect stocks only to go in the direction you are currently supporting shows your limited vision and the fact that you are about equal to the gambler in Vegas.

Agreed that being a board member is a major position in any company. Boards are the governing body of a company. There is someone who posts here who says boards are unimportant and that they just consist of a few short meetings. Agreed that Gold still has a very powerful position with Dendreon. As for the rest of your post, it is hogwash. The company right now is curled up in a fetal position while Gold and some others are still here.
 






karma has it in for this company that betrayed so many. They probably wanted to put out whatever earnings news they have so it would be followed by regular trading and not after hours trading where it could sink even more than regular trading. Now apparently market is closed Monday and very possibly Tuesday.

Gold is one person out of a thousand employee company. You argue that Dendreon would be better off acquired by big pharma. Well that has not happened yet. In the meantime it would be best for as many cancer patients as possible to be getting Provenge. If you had any human decency you would be rooting for Dendreon’s success as Provenge really does help cancer patients and is a real medical advance. Instead you do the complete opposite and constantly unfairly attack the company. The bigger PR nightmare for the company is your constant barrage of anti-Dendreon misinformation on this board which is directly hurting innocent people, but obviously you could care less about those consequences.
