Why does Acthar cost so much ?

tell a parent with a kid with infantile spasms my friend. Yes, if you sell less volume you must charge more to cover your costs which were 5.6 billion + 400 m invested + 30% or so Patient Assistance (free). Again, come back with facts. You asked, I answered and you have no intelligent response except emotional and childish outbursts and unsubstantiated opinions. Look up the facts

Just because you overpaid for it and hid behind rare disease is not a valid argument.

Yes, by all means talk to the IS community. They hate Mallinkrodt. It couldn’t be any more obvious that you don’t care about the communities you serve and only care about profit.

Here’s a fact: Mnk sales director sends email stating if you pay drs to speak there is a spike in there Acthar prescriptions. Demands more. Where should I send the email? Leslie Stahl? Rockford Attorneys? House of oversight? CNN? Maybe all of them....

You have old ass drug that has a loop hole for approval. Instead of gathering solid head to head clinical trials you guys play around with IIRs that set on the shelf, company knows these can take forever, the trails never examine head to head (just placebo), and there’s no real eye popping study in any therapeutic category besides some company paid / sponsored billshit. Then you claim a 30% generous free goods which raw costs of ass tar costs pennies to make. So looks kind, but is smoke in mirrors. Also most of the paid rates are from Medicare. They don’t contract rates. The taxpayers are the ones getting hosed for this. They pay 80,000 for 5 weeks. The Medicare/medicad is what pays the bills not your shity give away program.

Again, you ignore the 5.6 billion paid for it. You can accuse MNK for paying too much for it and being foolish to pay that much but you can’t accuse of just greed. Since purchase they’ve invested in studies because we both know it really works in some patients. I’d like to know what you do for a living?.....don’t even try to tell me you’re a clinician because you write like a 10th grader. Beyond writing the word “Ass-star” can you come up with anything thought provoking or factual?

If they paid 1 trillion for it would , then do they charge 40 million per vial ? Just because questcor sold you over priced pig shit doesn’t mean it will last you tired fuck. They know ass tar has a short shelf life. Name one piece of compelling data on ass tar? Post a link to a real study any category that’s relevant !Again fact: commercial payers aren’t paying for your shit anymore!!!!! There’s some fucking facts HO
Fact: Congress is investingating your ass
Fact: no head to head studies

if they paid a trillion? ...yes, they would charge more of course. Are you really that simple? Not sure how to break down economic reality for you. I knew if I kept throwing facts your only recourse would be a juvenile tantrum. Problem is at your absurd trillion example - tantrum (or do you want to say gazillion) the company would simply go broke/shed jobs and you’d have one less treatment choice.

67 years ago Acthar was approved!! 67 years!! Where is the data over 67 years? And more importantly, Where is the data to justify the ridiculous price?
Half wit/Econ 101 guy is new, he still thinks Santa (data) is coming, after 2 weeks talks of filling the funnel with referrals and thinks he’s genius, it’ll sink in eventually. Until then be careful out there, the fda was anonymously tipped on the false efficacy claims reps and managers are making, especially in lower volume TA’s. The lower volume TA’s have absolutely no approved efficacy messaging, yet continue to tell drs how great Acthar is at treating everything.

For Fair balance you did get 1 fact correct...67 years is correct! I applaud you on that one. The other fact is MNK has owned it for going on 5 years. You’ve also probably seen studies currently underway which are available on government websites so those are publicly available. Other fact is Providers would not use it if it didnt work where other choices don’t.

“Studies underway”? You must mean to say “currently enrolling”....please at least act intelligent. Which DOES NOT mean efficacy. “Providers would not use unless”: providers use because they get $ to enroll guinea pigs in study or money in their pockets for speaker programs. Everyone here knows this.

Print off 4 copies if email. Send one in envelope to Dept of Justice (attn Stark Law violation division), second to Center for Medi/Medi Services (same attn), third to Health and Human Services (attn same), 4th copy keep in your records. No return address needed. Just send. If this was said or written, is a direct Stark Law violation. Same as RBDs directing reps to target Medicare/Medicaid prescribers, which of course they dont do, right?

currently enrolling/studies underway...pretty sure that’s the same thing. Tell me how different that is. You’ve got 1 fact right so far. The original question was about the cost...which was answered with pretty clear facts which you didn’t like.

We would never target a plan that approves ass star like star medicad...................

Funny, that’s a first! Mallinckrodt employees using the terms “fair and balanced”. That never happens when detailing Acthar to drs.

Thank you for the information! I researched Stark law and you are correct. Maybe you’re aren’t such a half wit after all.

if you have such great info about VP’s, why are you posting here?
No one said VP’s, it said Sales Director. You regurgitate the corporate response to cost and call them facts?! It’s laughable how gullible you are. The only fact you got right is 5.6B mnk paid for the Ponzi scheme. The rest is cooked books bs you were fed and believed. Mnk invests in the “appearance” of data generation that will never pan out or it’s manipulated case studies. Those “currently enrolling” studies you are referring to have been in the same status for years, not months, years. So sorry you were lied to like most that joined mallinfraud.

if you agree that 5.6 billion is the correct fact...which it is, then how does a business cover its expenses for such a cost? It’s clear you hate the company and product ,which is fine, but you keep avoiding the fact that your basic question was answered. Your entire discussion has been void of facts except for 67 years and your other accusations are likely emotionally fueled opinions only.

Mr fact seeker.. Medicare (the tax payers) should not have to pay because your poorly run company over paid for an unproven drug and wants to get their investment back. There is a fact for you!!!
