Why do people take pictures of the CoE awards and post them on LinkedIn?

And before you go there, yeah I’ve got a few including APIS Cup.

So what’s up with these people ? Are they THAT insecure that they have to post pics of glass and crystal lined up on their kitchen counter?

Is that what gives people fulfillment?

Insecurity is it. Mommy! Daddy! Look at me! Are you proud of me? Guess what…nobody really cares. Any replies you get are from other insecure people that want others to also see how phony they are. One second after they reply they have forgotten about you. A little humility goes a long way.

“I am honored and Humbled…”
Maybe these people are looking for another job?

The bigger concern is customers seeing the Hawaii sign and scenery in the background. Many of us are making more money than most of our customers and will all of the bad publicity around the prices /cost of prescription drugs this doesn’t look very good. Show some discretion!

Maybe they are proud of their accomplishments and want to share them with the people who follow them. Why do you follow them if it pisses you off when they post something?

Do you think you’re better than they are? You run off to CP and anonymously complain about them. Why not tell them how you feel on LinkedIn? If you’re right and they’re wrong, then surely you have no problem posting your thoughts about them for everyone to see them with your name attached.

Is anonymously bashing people what gives you fulfillment?

Uhh, you don’t have to follow them or NNI to get their pics in your face. They just appear.
I agree, it’s insecurity and humility does go a long way.
Then there’s the whole visibility thing to our patients and prescribers.

They don’t just appear. Take a tutorial on LinkedIn sometime. You either follow them or someone you follow liked/commented on their post. I know it’s super hard to scroll past it or not read it, but it seems like your being a dick just for the sake of being a dick.

Some people try to work hard at their jobs, and they are proud of winning an award. The people who know and like those people are also proud of them. The only people offended by those posts are ones who don’t know the person or don’t like them. Just scroll past it! I know you can do it!

And, you’re blaming patient/prescriber opinions of the industry off of LinkedIn posts? That’s a new one. I think there’s a bit more fodder out their than someone posting an award on LinkedIn. Again, you’re just being an ass because you don’t know or don’t like the people who posted. Get over it.

Narcissistic posting of awards is gross. Very bad judgment considering the cost of our insulins and Ozempic. Attention seeking when that type of information should be left for the resume- not social media.

I’m not a huge fan of it either. However, isn’t LinkedIn basically a social media resume?

Gross. Sorry. Look at me, look at me. Guess what? I did win, not this year, but no way would I post on Linked In. Not the platform for gushing. Save it for FB/insta or if you are a twat--tweet.

It is but it does send a terrible message to customers. Is it earned? Yes. Does it need to be publicized anywhere other than on a resume? No. There are pharma companies that prohibit trip pictures to be posted on social media. Novo just has their head too far up their ass to realize the ramifications.

We want our peers to aspire to be as good as we are. We, the elite, or actually helping the company. By posting pictures on social media other not so good reps can see what it’s like to be in our group. Hopefully the rest of you mediocre reps will take delight in seeing us on social media and elsewhere.

I was there. I took a lot of very nice pictures for memories none of which were posted on social media. I am secure enough to not brag about it. I’m in the running again. Hope to see you there next year.

Got it. So, if we could just all be YOU, then everything would be ok. Just adopt YOUR values and mirror YOUR actions. Because, apparently anytime we don’t do that, we are narcissistic, bad for the company image, etc.

You have a really high sense of self, all while trying to play the “humility” angle. It’s hilariously hypocritical. Why not climb down off that high horse for a few minutes and recognize that you don’t have the cornerstone on right and wrong. You’re just an egomaniac who thinks you do.

Think about what you said Ms. LinkedIn-expert.

So, you’re saying that’s someone that’s connected with me (all 2273 of them), might be connected to someone who’s connected to the CoE award poster and that’s why I see it. And so that’s why they show up on my feed.
That means they show up on anyone who currently works or formerly worked in pharma. Yeah, that’s a small number of people you dumb-ass.
I don’t know them and so therefore I can’t like it dislike them. I’m just commenting it’s stupid, insecure and not a good look to those who prescribe or pay for our meds.

Not two connections away, smart guy. Just one. And, if you’re complaining that you get things you don’t like in your feed, then maybe you shouldn’t have connected with 2273 people. Why connect with that many and then bitch about what comes through in your feed? Talk about insecure! I’m sorry someone else being proud of something they accomplished is so offensive to you. Even though you have the ability (and apparently the desire) to skip over these things, you’ve somehow turned into a slave to your social media feed. MUST WATCH FEED…MUST COMPLAIN ABOUT WHAT I SEE. The funny part is that you blame it on someone else! But, if it makes you feel better to sit on your self righteous throne and pass judgement on those who don’t conform to your thoughts and actions, then I guess keep indulging yourself. Now, you better run back to Facebook and complain about your neighbors posting pics of their new BBQ grill. How dare they!!
