Why do Cymbalta Reps lie?

OK I'm gonna go out on a limb here and hope for a half way serious response...

I'm a pharma rep, but don't sell in the SSRI category, and I've just been prescribed Cymbalta 30 and even though I've only taken it twice, I can feel a noticeable difference in me. I'm taking it for GAD and I must say that my regular symptoms of anxiety (hard heart beat, choked up) are doing better, but I am having some terrible side effects. I can't sleep, but I stretch like I just woke every five minutes and I feel super restless. Is this normal? There's only so much a PI will tell me. On one hand I'm glad to see the anxiety go away, but these other symptoms are driving me just as crazy.

My question is - can I do anything about the sleep thing other than taking ambien or something? I feel like I'm crawling up a wall at night. I'm not a pill popper and don't aspire to be, but unfortunately I can't get rid of the anxiety without meds... I've tried every breathing routine, vacation, and coping mechanism you can think of....

Again, any insight on this would be great.

You might want to speak with your MD about augmenting with an anti anxiety med like a benzodiazepine. I know people don't want to hear that. Dont suffer from the anxiety, it's very tough to treat and Cymbalta alone may not help. It's good to do the behavioral modification piece as well. If you're not seeing a therapist, find a good one that specializes in treating anxiety. Medication plus therapy will give you better outcomes then medication alone! Don't give up on the Cymbalta just yet. Give it a fair trial, but work closely with your treating physician and fight like hell for your recovery!! Good luck.

Try aniracetam. It's pretty cheap in bulk though cerebral health. Good luck. I was anxious once too.

In my professional opinion, the following advice is well balanced, however I do not endorse any of these suggestions. http://www.longecity.org/forum/topi...ely-effectively/page__pid__498698#entry498698 For entertainment purposes only. --RPh
