Why another sub 5-year CRTD?

BSX people.. do you even have atrial capture managment in your icd devices ?
if you do .. when did you come up with that feature to offer complete automated icd checks with home monitoring ?

your lead impedance monitoring for your claimed to be best leads .. is showing 4 times more failures with medtronic devices.. sounds like your old technology is helping patients .not. oh and the study was done with the same primary investigator as your subQ icd ..

bsx can you claim hf reductions of 12% with your devices ? no ?

how many recalls have you had on your icd devices in the past 10 years ?

why do you now offer lifetime warranties ? i think its because of the above.

you have nothing new.. nothing.

compare head to head icd longevity for the last 10 years look who comes up on top ?

its not BSX.

sorry you loose.

Heard there are impedance issues w SJM devices and Quattro leads attributable the terminal pin/rings' materials oxidizing w the springs in the headers. Probably a similar phenomenon.

BSX has decided to fight a battle of longevity for (1) device that MDT has not performed very well for battery life.. but guy's you must get serious...

You have 10 years of shit in your bags :

How many recalls have you had on your ICD's ? over 35

Did you get caught selling defective devices ? yes .. this should have shut you down.

How long did your batteries last with all the shorts and software glitches ? 25% loss min.

Do you remember that reed switch that drained your batteries ? shhh no one remembers that.

how many set-screws failures during battery change-outs ? only the old ep's remember that.

When did you introduce Atrial capture management in your icd devices ?

How many products do you currently sell that were not part of a recall ?

How long has BSX/Boston been following ICD longevity other than PPReport ? not very long correct ?

google GUIDANT Boston Scientific icd recall and see what comes up..

I totally understand your warranty claims..I would be doing the same..

Hyundai had todo the same thing.

Omg you are so ignorant. Mdt has the same warranty it's always had. 4 yr crtd and 5 for its icd's. BSC offers 6/8/10. do you even realize you are lying? Are you really this stupid? Let me make it simple. When you go to Lowes to buy a dishwasher would you buy one that has a 5 year warranty or a 10 year warranty? The answer is obvious. Would you like to guess why the manufacturers would offer different warranties? The manufacturer fully expects the respective products to last at least to the end of their warranty. It's really that simple. One more example my friend. The mdt crtd warranty is 4 years. The devices last 4.4-4.6 years. BSC crtd warranty is 6 years. These devices are lasting 9.1 years. Now break it down further that equals 2 x's the longevity. Why? BSC has 2 x's the battery capacity. It's not that difficult.

1) its a great comparison of bsx and lowes hardware ( you cant purchase high end products at both ).

2) If you purchase a Miele dishwasher you don't need to hassle with the repairman coming to you home 4 times in 10 years... do you need me to compare this to patients and BSX changeouts during your 35 recalls ?

3) BSX vs MDT battery capacity is only one part of the equation... go back for the last few years and see how well BSX performed...oupss sorry i forgot you did not track your failures very well till the FDA shut you down and made you clean house...

3a) your Ford F150 has a big tank but its not as efficient as a hybrid ?

4) How many engineers from Guidant do you have left that know how to design new CRM products ?

5) the only thing you have to fight with any company is battery life because you have no more money to invest in CRM.

couldn't agree more ... it is about time we a more aggressive in sharing what we have to offer. We went after MDT because we have a legit shot at taking share from them and STJ is too easy!

Wait a minute dip shit....you were making longevity claims over a year now and your MS didn't grow 1% and now that MDT claims it improved it's battery longevity you idiots wake up and think it's a jab at you????? What a bunch of morons..you're not even on MDT's radar screen but you go out of your way to make marketing material to go after MDT.....you guys keep selling your out dated itegrated bi-polar shit and keep up the inappropriate shocks. Laughable! How's that subQ selling? and what's the battery life on that implantable hockey puck? 4-5 yrs? You really believe you sell quality?

Mdt is in no position to throw around the recall issue. Lead issues are many many times worse than can issues. Patients die and are severely harmed by either catastrophic lead failure or extraction. As for longevity when u compare 6yr old technology mdt wins. Mdt was the last company to go to a hybrid battery a technology bsx had and stopped using in Icds with Livian. Mdt has had battery issues since Maximo, they have removed 75% or more of biv Icds at 4 yrs because they make a small battery. When u put a small battery in a device with a steady pacing load u get what mdt has gotten for the last 8 years. But guess what it's good business. Close to 2.5 million in gen change business for every hundred devices implanted in 2008. At very aggressive pricing. If the customer keeps paying why change?

If BSX ICD's have a superior or equal device to MDT, they should have been gaining share for the past 4 years..

What has BSX done in the past 4 years to move the Heart failure market ?

Sjm rep here enjoying this greatly. What has MDT done for CRT in the last few years? 3 pacing vectors, some BS capture management and an erector set df-4 lead. You MDT blue bleeder are whistling past your graveyards. Lots of fellows in practice don't think the sun revolves around MDT........

Hmmm... Given that you don't work for Medtronic, I'm going to either believe you or my Medtronic rep. That's easy - and it's in writing. The new device has a 6 year CRT-D, 8 year DR, and 10 year VR warranty. Just because they haven't spammed it to every email inbox doesn't mean that it's not true, and just because BSC has spammed everyone doesn't mean that it is true. And I have an issue with your "9 year" device claim. Since they weren't launched until 2008, so it's still a guessing game at this point. Keep spending your R&D dollars on email spam and keep repeating marketing messages verbatim, because that makes it easy to know who to avoid in the lab.

STJ has spent allot of $$ in new products but no clinical data to support what they invested in.

what BS capture management ?

There are some customers that don't care about longevity, but many do. My customers routinely change out MDT devices for BSX. It's commonplace in our market. EPs are tired of telling their patients that their device will last only 3-4 years.

The FDA has reviewed our data and approved increased longevity labeling.

Four years testing on the shelf and close to five years in real-time. I think we've got some good data. I haven't seen many early battery depletions with the new battery. Have any of the MDT reps out there swapped these for their device? Doubt it.

So, I bet your EP's also tell their pt's they a more likely to receive an inappropriate shock by BSX devices and they also share the mortality data associated with these events.....right???? You're an idiot and have no idea how much business you lose to this issue!!

Ask you pt's if they would rather be inappropriately shocked or change out their device in 5 yrs....see what answer you get.

What are you talking about T wave oversensing boy? Ever heard of Madit RIT? Of course not db. How many cans have u lost to a 3 year crtd and do you REALLY wanr to talk about inappropriate therapy you little fidelis selling bitch? You think pts like 80 shocks due to a shitty mdt lead??? This is too easy.

You clearly have not kept up with the industry. Bone up on your competitors technology or retire. You simply sound stupid.

Omg we have 2 idiots. Do I really have to break that down line by line? You are clueless. There are still pts coming to ER with 30-80 shocks from fidelis. Can you comprehend that? The fact that This ass wants to talk about inappropriate therapy is comical. Btw when did madit RIT come out??? That's your homework. You are embarrassing yourself. I'm guessing you weren't too good at "reading comprehension". And let me guess you want me to read up on the new cfx mdt battery? It's ANOTHER 1 amp hour battery. Go back to class rookie.

So the date of when madit rit came out is more imporatant to you than the content. Brilliant question!!! You win..I give up. What's my next homework assignment professor? 80 shocks???Really? That's one hell of a battery..been doing this a long time and have never seen anything close to 30 shocks.

fidelis is shocking patients - bsx discriminators are doing the same at a lower level.. your old devices did not deliver therapy and killed people like J.O. while mountain biking and BSX put its head in the sand.. that is the killer here.

your 1 amp hour battery comment should be better explained to us why this is so bad.

do you think your GMC Tahoe is better because it has a larger tank ?

i think efficiency circuits and software design with state of the art algorithms can beat your mamma's pie.

You've been there what 15 months? You know the answer to the 1 amp hour. Add up marquis and fidelis deaths then read madit RIT then we'll talk rookie. Oh and research ACO's and tell me how a 4.6 year crtd fits in that model vs a 9.3 year crtd. You have lots to do son!

You are just another tool from the MDT shed, and that probably works for you and your assumption that everything your marketing driven company tells you is gospel truth. The poster's reply to this moronic rant should cause you to re-evaluate your chest thumping. As far as I know the old GDT management team and medical directors are long gone, so continue to bring up the tragic death of a young man if that's what you want to base your attack on.
