Why all the openings

OH! So, having been recently down sized, you have spent a lot of time on job boards, saw some WC positions for all our divisions and immediately decided to jump on CafePharma to see "what the problem is?" Maybe it's we waste time and money hiring morons like you who can't turn market share. See, probably unlike your last Pharma gig where you were PC, here at WC you get bonuses on actually improving market share! I know, I know. It's tough, and yes, if you can't improve market share, "intimidation by fear" will come hammering down on you because, and I know this may be a shocker, in some crazy scheme to actually turn a profit, WC actually pays employees to sell and grow market share. Crazy eh? So, this isn't a relationship building exercise job, you can't just jump into a territory doing great and make a killing, nor do you get paid on reviews from offices on how well you feed them. I know, it's just not fair. Maybe that is why we have so many openings? Look on the bright side, WC is always hiring, we aren't being drug down by the economy! Optimism is the best outlook on life. Having read this post, realizing you might have to actually SELL at this position, you are probably crapping your pants. Don't worry, the likelihood of WC hiring you is very slim. :)

LOL! Probably the greatest post I've seen on here!

While I am flattered you feel I possess the proper prowess to be a manager based on my long winded thought, I am humble enough to admit I'm just a rep. I believe I explained the logical explanation for the openings? We have small territories, and we have a lot of people who get hired and then suck ass. The garbage is taken out on a daily basis at your house right? Why would it be any different in business?

So are you saying the hiring managers, trainers and training dept are all incompetent? Are you saying it is all due to the people hired and has nothing to do with the organization? Which one is it or is it both? Maybe the company has a bad reputation in the industry and can't attract top quality candidates?

Top quality reps from where? Pfizer? Merck? Eli? GSK? Bayer? Haha! Yeah, those great big Pharma companies that have multiple mass lay offs every year?! I'll take my company, where the only time I have to worried about being fired is if I'm not performing over those companies with "good reputations" and "top performers". And it's not management or trainers..it's reps not growing market share, simple as that.

LOL. Kind of true. I've seen many reps come from those companies over to ours and do horrible. They are so used to working 10-2 and not having to actually care about market share.

The territory and access within the territory and formulary coverage all play a part in moving business as well. While some may not admit it, patients don't want to pay a tier 3 copay for their drugs when they can get a drug that's either the cost of a generic or $20 copay. There are many factors that go into the business. Not everyone has an easy territory so be careful lumping reps who may not perform with reps who work their ass off and are out there every day and still have trouble because they can't control everything that goes on around them in their territory.

FINALLY! An argument that is actually valid and true! Above statement is very true, and unfortunately, it's like that for any Pharma company. I wish coverage for everything was equal across the board and you really had to sell on clinical value. But you are absolutely right, it is hard to sell a product when it is at tier 3. Different plans and states are way better.

Excuses are like assholes, everyone's got one and they all stink!

Get over yourself! WC is a farce and you couldn't sell your way out of a paper bag "Med-Ed" boy!

Clever. Sorry for giving a satirical though well thought out response to what I perceived as something that warranted the criticism. Clearly, you are far wittier than I with this blockbuster of a statement. Well done.

Hahahahaha! For one, the small guy RD that you speak of is not an rd anymore and hasn't been over a year now! So, you are a complete and udder idiot. And did you mean Lauderdale? Because I've never heard of launder dale?! Wow. You aren't smart enough to receive even the lowest of scores on a standardized test. Secondly, the post above mine, is obviously the same person saying the same thing over and over. Thirdly, why in the hell are you coming on here asking that question? Oh, that's right. You are feeding all the disgruntled trolls. Look on every board ok this site and you will see the same shit about every company. This company pays great, but gets rid of the trash that is wasting our money and can't sell. That's why there are openings. And honestly, keep your severance and don't waste your time. You won't get hired anyways. Severance is mostly giving to those reps who were part of a mass layoff. They always keep the top performers though, and obviously that's not you. Oh, and we don't put people on PIP's, that's how I also know every post on this wall is bogus, save my little rant here. Cheers!
What an ass -wipe you are !! Tough guy ....they kept the good ones ?? Really wtf are you doing there ? Let me guess :a little jerk-off in a b market with no restrictions running his mouth?
O how I love people like you ...

Wow, nice. You type so well. I could hardly understand what the hell you just wrote, but in an attempt to cipher through all your grammar mistakes, I will at least say I am not a manager. Why do I stay with this company you ask? I don't know. I have had multiple raises over the last couple of years of 10% or more. I made 150k in 2012, my best year. And I enjoy my line of work and division. Why is it so surprising that someone can't have success at a company just because you did not, or have not, or ever will? :)

Back to the original post. I went to indeed put in pharmaceutical representative and looked at 8 or 9 states. Warner Chilcotte had more postings for open rep positions than any other company. When you consider the size of Warner vs Sanofi, GSK, Pfizer etc we are much smaller and have more openings. Just the facts and not hard to verify.

Back to the original post. Ok, great. Again, we do not waste our money on reps who come in and do not impact market share in a positive way for longer than 8 months. Hence, the consistent openings! This is a sales company, through and through. End of story.

At some point the company should realize that constantly firing and hiring people will cost them more in the long run the letting the good eggs who work hard, build relationships and start to move business after a year. Sometimes it doesn't happen right away.
