Why all the openings

Having been recently downsized I spend a lot of time on hiring boards looking for employment. I see WC openings in every division ,in every city, in every state so I don't believe it is just one business unit or one manager or one area of the country. What is the problem? I ask because I have just passed the phone screen and have been asked to a face to face. I have a lot of severence left so I am not pressed to just get benefits and a pay check at this point. I just don't want to waste my time if I would never accept a position here.
 






Run don't walk away from the interview . It is management by intimidation and PIPs.

This person is correct. Unfortonately, even if you work hard, put in a solid days work, they still will never be happy even when numbers are decent. Management by intimidation at its best.
 






Interviewed with tiny little guy with big attitude-knew nothing about industry for being an rd. the DM was even dumber, and bigger than the Napoleon rd. interview was in ft launder dale. Thank god took a job with a real company. My wife's AM craps are bigger than that idiot from NJ. Rd from NJ, believe first name started with M was total dick.

Hahahahaha! For one, the small guy RD that you speak of is not an rd anymore and hasn't been over a year now! So, you are a complete and udder idiot. And did you mean Lauderdale? Because I've never heard of launder dale?! Wow. You aren't smart enough to receive even the lowest of scores on a standardized test. Secondly, the post above mine, is obviously the same person saying the same thing over and over. Thirdly, why in the hell are you coming on here asking that question? Oh, that's right. You are feeding all the disgruntled trolls. Look on every board ok this site and you will see the same shit about every company. This company pays great, but gets rid of the trash that is wasting our money and can't sell. That's why there are openings. And honestly, keep your severance and don't waste your time. You won't get hired anyways. Severance is mostly giving to those reps who were part of a mass layoff. They always keep the top performers though, and obviously that's not you. Oh, and we don't put people on PIP's, that's how I also know every post on this wall is bogus, save my little rant here. Cheers!

The downsizing was based on geography 1st, time with company second and my partner had been with company 12 years. Finally I did finally get in contact with 3 current employees and they all are looking, all said management by intimidation and not a good work atmosphere. All mentioned company was up for sale a year ago and no one was interested . Why? I am going to pass!!!

Haha. Ok all-star. I'm sure you will have no problem finding a job then. All said company was up for sale, just like every Pharma company always is. And it was a ploy for the dividend payed out. You are an idiot. If you were so great at your job, you would have been kept. There is no management by intimidation here. Of course, i guess it just depends on who your manager is. But, I'm a very successful rep myself, and I am smart enough to never go to CafePharma for legit information about a prospective job. You are a joke! If you want, you should talk to the rep a rep in your area and get the honest truth from one of them..anyways, good luck in your job search. Little advise, next time you have a company interested in you, don't come on CP to get answers from disgruntled ex employees. Actually do some research with real people and offices about products and reps, and form your own cognitive opinion instead of being gullible and believing everything you read. Hey, look up, your name is on the ceiling! No, your name is not actually on the ceiling dummy. :)

Thanks for your input. Now, how many managers are there?! 5 divisions, if say close to 90? So, every manager acts differently! Maybe you have a dick manager. My experience has been nothing like that. Which is why you should never believe anything on here

Intimidation by fear..lol. Is that just the generic CafePharma phrase? I see it on so many boards. It's funny, we are in sales people. There is no fear, but there are expectations for hitting certain thresholds, percentages, numbers, market share. I mean, if you think someone telling you to get your numbers up or you may be in trouble, then get the hell out of sales!! It is ridiculous what I see on here. Bunch of cry babies.

Yeah, but your original post is bogus. There is NO RD that has initial M, None! No RD that fits the physical description that you gave, none! WC does not put reps on PIPs, they simply fire low performers! Lastly, there were companies interested in purchasing WC last year, Bayer is the first that comes to mind. The company is a cash generating machine; 600 million+ revenue on 2.4billion in sales; please tell me of another company (besides maybe Apple) in ANY industry that provides that kind of return.

In conclusion, your original post is so bogus and uninformed, its hilarious; and you are clearly a fraud! Thank you very much for not considering our company (supposedly).

OH! So, having been recently down sized, you have spent a lot of time on job boards, saw some WC positions for all our divisions and immediately decided to jump on CafePharma to see "what the problem is?" Maybe it's we waste time and money hiring morons like you who can't turn market share. See, probably unlike your last Pharma gig where you were PC, here at WC you get bonuses on actually improving market share! I know, I know. It's tough, and yes, if you can't improve market share, "intimidation by fear" will come hammering down on you because, and I know this may be a shocker, in some crazy scheme to actually turn a profit, WC actually pays employees to sell and grow market share. Crazy eh? So, this isn't a relationship building exercise job, you can't just jump into a territory doing great and make a killing, nor do you get paid on reviews from offices on how well you feed them. I know, it's just not fair. Maybe that is why we have so many openings? Look on the bright side, WC is always hiring, we aren't being drug down by the economy! Optimism is the best outlook on life. Having read this post, realizing you might have to actually SELL at this position, you are probably crapping your pants. Don't worry, the likelihood of WC hiring you is very slim. :)

While I am flattered you feel I possess the proper prowess to be a manager based on my long winded thought, I am humble enough to admit I'm just a rep. I believe I explained the logical explanation for the openings? We have small territories, and we have a lot of people who get hired and then suck ass. The garbage is taken out on a daily basis at your house right? Why would it be any different in business?
