Contract reps are no different from "real" pharma reps. What an idiot.

No kidding. Geez. Many of the reps that are contract have as much experience in big pharma as the current "direct" reps. But maybe we were downsized (like you're may about to be) and a contract position was the only thing available (unless you've been under a rock the past couple years, pharma is downsizing across the board and going with contract companies more and more). And rather than sit around and collect unemployment, good reps that want to WORK decided to take the contract position... If you haven't noticed, we do the EXACT same thing as you. In some cases maybe more, maybe less. There are good and bad on both sides.

I am employed directly by the company and couldn't agree more. Contracted reps are every bit as qualified as most company reps.
