I think 21 kept. Only Regeneron Cup winners. Territories will be fun looking at those maps.
sorry, worked on the math and it was the field. I’m still here and most of you aren’t, so gnaw on that. it showed the hiring philosophy was flawed, sales leaders didn’t stress performance and care and feeding of field outpaced sales. stinging indictment against the field. Ouch

OP here: Ends up its only 16 reps kept their jobs. DM's all gone. RM's and John Ryan kept their job. Thats it. 20 of them. Entire division, with this great product boiled down to 20! They say this will be a unique experience. I bet! People covering multiple states. I am not sure if those that stayed are the "winners" or the "losers" actually? Those that were offered positions can't take the severance. I feel bad for both groups actually. This is just sad how the company could screw up such a GREAT product! I hope this becomes something that B schools will study and figure out. Hopefully its not just C-Suite greed. Exit packages are good for those getting them.
You missed the biggest mistake of all- Pricing Praluent at 14,000 dollars per year.
Regeneron thought insurance companies would just roll over and pay for a med in a largely generic market and with no outcome data.
If only the company would have bothered to discuss with managed care a workable UM criteria before they
Launched, a lot of this mess could have been avoided.

I'd like to offer some perspective from an Amgen rep that was here from the start. I do have a great deal of sympathy for the folks that got this news and had their lives turned upside down. But from a macro observation let me say these things... AND, we here at Amgen haven't figured this out either..
1) Amgen has the scale and the breadth of portfolio to pay its way with the payors for PBM rebates. Amgen has DEEP pockets: Regeneron..not as much.
2) REG/SANOFI were really slow learners: too many internal hires from Sanofi PCP and REGN hired specialty reps NOT from cardiology. Your DMs were way over their heads and poor leaders.
3) You had no synergy between medical/KOL/PBM negotiations, and marketing/sales. The gang that couldn't shoot straight.
4) I don't know anything about your regionals and executives, so I can't comment.
5) Finally, REGN set the original price. HUUUGE miscalculation...and you pooped the bed. Amgen, the Global VP and the US Commercial Business VP, figured we would be greeted as kings when we priced Repatha $500 less than Praluent. Really. But you set the original price and doctors and payors called bullshit.
6) Lastly...karma. I think the overhang of the patent clung to you like white on rice. You launched at-risk and knew this going in.
Will doHey listen here mr Amgen-you're full of shit. Dont be telling us how bad things are and how we blew it. You're the company that started this layoff shit a few months ago. So don't come over here and start fucking running your mouth. Get back in your fucking hole. Your fucking "vaunted" attorney group got their asses handed to them the last go around. Good thing you have a law department because that's your fucking only sales team you really have. And its a good thing you have contract people that work. We didnt. And don't come in here with that shit about price. Yours was the exact fucking price as ours. Youre not fucking greeted as kings. You outnumbered us, outmaneuvered us on a reduction of price first, then you had excessive resources like samples and lunch money. If you look at where we spent our time, we fucking kicked your asses in cardiology. You kicked ours globally because of the business you have with PC. So get off your fucking high horse and eat shit. Your day is coming shit-for-brains. You don't bring any more value than we do. But you fucking send in your RAS's to pull through PA's. Nice fucking work. Scummy company, scummy reps, scummy business and company. And lots of people know and believe that. So go suck fucking ass. Beat it punk

You toooolllld them!!!!!!!!!1) Wrong. Regn maybe not so deep, but Sanofi does. Try again
2) Wrong. How do you know about our hires across the country? I was a cardiology specialty rep when i came over. So were many of my peers. And what do you know about my DM? He was fantastic even though he had never been in cardiology before. Try again
3) How do you know about our KOL/PBM negotiations and marketing/sales team? You a mole or something? You gave away the farm to get contract agreements. We didnt give away the farm. Not for as long as you did anyway. So try again little man
4) Good. Shut your ass then and dont bring it up
5) Wrong again. Last time I looked these 2 agent were identically priced. I call bullshit on your memory of how it was priced. Try again loser
6) Karma? We didnt have a lawsuit against us when we launched. You punks did that later. Because its how you operate. Anybody that competes with you, the Amgen legal team goes after. See other disease states as well on this grasshopper. Six swings and six misses. Youre out!
Stay on your own boards. Don't come over hear and tell us how smart you think you are. You aint. But here's some real Karma. How long do you think you'll actually have a job selling repatha? Good luck with that. Now go and post on your own boards. Mind your own damn business and stop acting like youre a great thinker with your fake analytical and fake memory which fails you.

Nice comeback Regeneron launch genius. The entire blame for what happened is squarely on management of both companies for the piss poor analysis of UM criteria, guidelines , management care incompetence, lack of knowledge in SP arena along with non-reporting SP's and always being 3 steps behind Amgen in everything. What about taking the lead one time in dropping the price before Amgen did?? How about AMGEN RAS doing all the work in offices with PA's and everyone was told not to report the legality of this . Just let the reps take it in the ass for 4 years . Every single executive ,DM, RBL's VP's and Home Office jerkoff the had anything to do with decision making with Praluent should be taken into a barn and horse fucked to no end. Marion your reservation had been made for first in line and Len next to go. Happy Trails
The Sanofi PCP team weren't internal. All hired outside the company with 90% of them with no territory experience. Only small % of Regeneron specialty reps had cardiology experience and relied on Sanofi cardiology reps to get them up to speed. This was not the problem..it was complete incompetence in management from both companies. Remember the first targets lists?? Statin users.. desperate attempts by Sanofi to make this a reach and frequency drug. Poorly launched Hub which Len should of been strung up for . Complete lack of understanding criteria by management. This was a perfect storm.
Arrogance breeds ignorance. Repatha is not performing well, and Amgen is scrambling to find a viable strategy. Was going to post on this but no need- this is totally spot on...especially the part about "always being 3 steps behind Amgen." What a shit show. I'm not sure Regeneron and Sanofi could agree how to
