When is the layoff???

Year End Reviews must be completed by Jan 31st. Then the appeals process is open until Feb 15th. Then final ratings are locked in and business rules can be applied. So nothing will happen until the end of Feb at the earliest.

Thats if they care about 2011

Novartis will hold the stance of WE ARE ELIMINATING POSITIONS, NOT PEOPLE. You will see some great performing people let go in this one.

You are right they didn't use it last time and it was a legal mess. SO this time everything was expedited to ensure that 2011 is taken into consideration. Therefore, you will see that nothing specific will be announced until the appeals process is over other than Joe's message on the 25th alerting us to how many will be cut in total.

Totally agree that layoffs won't be announced until all reviews are done. Some people have already gotten their year ends so legally everyone will have to get theirs. The above poster is correct. With everything that happened with lawsuit, they will make sure their asses are covered.
Last layoff, JJ made financial statement late Oct. and layoffs occurred first of Dec.
This time it will be similar. Jan 25th will be announcement to stockholders and then by end of Feb layoffs will be announced to us. Plain and simple

maybe if you have a heavily detailed, credible post instead of a one line rant it would seem more credible.
Maybe the MD's will learn something today but reps will not know till after the 25th when JJ makes his earnings statement. Take that to the bank

Novartis is handing off the impact lists today. People will be notified starting tomorrow. What will emerge for the report on the 25th is a supposed leaner Novartis that has taken steps to brace itself for 2012 and onward.

That is correct. My partner who was let go and did not receive his his review form 2010. I got my review after the layoffs in December. I received a 3-2 rating and months later I found a different job. I felt that if they were going to treat a person with over 25 years with Novartis and had won many major awards, it was not the place I wanted to be. Novartis should show more respect for people who helped build this company. I guess those days are over.
