Spoken like a true lifer. Yes, yes there are plenty of sales jobs out there that pay more with the same fringe benefits. But you are right, you are right in the sense that you could land one. 20 years of pharma on your resume? PASS.

Sure there are jobs that pay more. But the above package puts you in the top 5-6% of earners in the USA. And remember the original idea behind this string: having a job that provides the financial resources and the scheduling flexibility to initiate other business ventures and income streams. Anybody that doesn't realize pharma field sales is ideal for this scenario is either stupid or just trying to stir up a reaction. As Mr Garrison says on South Park, "Don't be jelly....K?"

Yeah just look beyond pharma. I moved to device trauma and my salary doubled even though its straight commission.

As I see it real estate is the way to go. I cruz all day long and troll for property. I know every street in my home city. You always have time to show a unit or go to an auction or make calls to get your AC fixed. The free gas and car save tons of time and money. Property has made me wealthier than I thought it could. Just avoid the debt trap and buy all cash and you will be very happy.
