whats taking so long

Most pieces of shit are not worth over 20 Billion dollars, but that was very eloquent. Thank you for your valuable contribution to the discussion.

Anyone heard about an updated timeline? Last week, I heard from an inside source that it would close within 3 weeks.

And yes, I know that the deadline was extended three months.

This deal will be done by the letter of the law....and thats whats taking so long. Trying to dump some product lines, maybe none wants??? Its taking a toll on everyone, I'm surprised there haven't been more defections. In the end, we will look back and say it was difficult but worth it. Thats not to say that some folks will have a life changing loss of job, reassignment, move, etc. in their future...Stay positive and focused.

you clowns are kidding yourselves. This merger has already taken too long and has damaged both businesses. Stay positive and focused?? Focused on what?? Maybe if there was better communication to the field as to what is going on people could get focused.

This is a massive disaster out in the field and our competition is benefiting.

Does Zimmer management have any idea how difficult this is for the people in the field and their families??

I'm the deal is complicated but they need to improve the communication to the people that are actually still bringing in the money!!!

What the hell? Seriously? What kind of statement is this? Of course this sale will be done by the letter of the law..rocket scientist! Yes there is a company that wants to buy the lines suggested to be divested..Lima..in the U.S...Yet to be determined..aka negotiating for FTC approval..Lima or another? Who knows but the lines are profitable..will see who buys? More defections? Why? We are all making a living right now. Why jump ship until we know where it is headed? As far as people losing their jobs? No shit! However..some may have an idea but most of us don't! So we are seeing how this plays out! Most of us have a plan "B"...so SHUT UP!!!

Obviously you are the clown. What kind of rant is this? Of course communication should be better to us in the field! Did you think for a second that they would communicate better? Don't take yourself that seriously! We are nobody! No matter how much we bring in sales! They have a different plan...look around!

Well, it's interesting to read all the speculative posts as it is clear that many of the posters have never been through a merger or acquisition.

First, the law must be followed. Period.
Second, the field folks are never consulted or effectively communicated with.
Third, some people whom should stay will go. Some whom should go will stay.
Fourth, the rich will get richer
Fifth, those who complain and worry the most should re-read #3

Folks, no matter what you say or do, you have ZERO control over what is happening and when. ZERO. So, quit whining and either live with it or move on. No wonder the competition is winning...they are competing against a bunch of spoon fed babies.

Good post....... Just do your jobs, and roll with it, baby !!

This thread is getting better and better. Really shows the morale at big bad Zimmer.

Our office just received a flare gun and about 20 blue flares. Instructions are to insert said flare gun up your ass and fire once you can't take it anymore.

SO FAR : 1 sales manager, 1 office coordinator, 1 senior rep and 2 junior reps have fired.

This is becoming much see TV.

What's the story with the PA area markets?
Who's gonna be in control?
Direct or not direct?

Jaspan keeps east. Duh! was there a question about that one?
Biomet current leaders in Pgh and Altoona.
Don't know about Central Pa. Doubt VF stays. Lives in Phila but territory is west of Harrisburg. Docs don't know who he is. Biomet isn't strong in central region. That's what could save VF, unfortunately.
