Whats it Like at Regeneron

I'm thinking about moving from one biotech to Regeneron. Any thoughts, concerns, cautions or atta-boys? What's the culture really like and what is the future outlook of the company? Is it an "infant Amgen" per say? Wish I were on the Amgen boat 10 years ago. . .

If you are considering the commercial side I wouldn’t recommend you coming over. Unfortunately the anti big pharma foundation of our organization is no longer the driving force. I’m part of the original crew Eylea. We had a culture that was inclusive, no bad ideas, no beuracracy and we left titles at the door. Today we things like the CLT and VPs saying you will do this because I’m a VP. At one time it didn’t matter if you were an administrator coordinator or a Sr. Executive to have voice. Today people are saying what others want to hear. The environment is somewhat toxic. Many are interviewing at other companies and have one foot out the door. For the mature we realize that as organizations grow change is needed, however; the changes that are occurring do not have patients or people first.

This captures an accurate picture. The CEO could Care less about commercial. He hired an individual who is 20 +years pedigree at Astra Zeneca, forced out, she went to Amgen and fell in love with the Amgen way which is big pharma. She is big pharma through and through. She was pushed out of Amgen. Went to Medivation for 9 months and benefited financially from a buy out. Was born on 3rd base and acts like she hit a triple. Goes to Axovant start up and the drug doesn’t pan out after a 6 month run. She is underwhelmed by anyone in this organization. She is judgemental and toxic. Unless you are from Amgen you don’t have credibility. However, she has brought 3 top leaders from Amgen in to the organization and 2 have already resigned. She thinks the organization needs to be fixed...not her fault, Len’s orders. She is basically doing what was asked of her and moving people out. Most people are looking for new jobs.

It’s not the best nor the worst. I’ve got 25 years in the industry across multiple Pharma and biotech. I’ve definitely had worse. I hate the partnership with Sanofi. It’s just a mess. But a lot of companies have this. The golden age of this industry is over. If you know of a truly great company let me know. They all evolve into something that is either just ok or a mess.

Maybe Sanofi hates the co- promote with Regeneron ?? Maybe Regeneron in 2019 will contribute some lunch and learn money, program money and above all samples!! You should be flying your Sanofi counterpart to Rome for Christmas for everything they did for you in 2018.

You got a fucking hole in your head? Don't even consider it, unless you are desperate, or plan on leaving within a year and a half. Bad culture. Not as toxic as others, but certainly bad. It's a make believe biotech company trying to play with the big boys. If you like getting your ass kicked, it might be a fantastic place to work.

Regeneron pays well, sign on bonus, good benefits, stock options. Much more relaxed than big pharma. Were experiencing some turnover in management which happens every three or 4 years. Way less than big pharma management. It's still a good gig. The ones complaining are the same ones who complained when they used to work in pods in pharma. Good pipeline and way more relaxed meetings than Novartis or Merck etc. Just do your job and stop worrying about some suit 5 levels above you.

No, you're wrong. It's not way less than big pharma management, its the exact same. It's not a good gig-only use it to hold you over until you find a better one. I didn't work in a pod previously. Meetings are not more relaxed. Same as big pharma. Talking heads running marketing. VP's out of touch with reality. District managers are yes men.

But you are a POS for saying all of that stink butt.

We made a mistake in hiring th you. Call your old manager and see if your pod still has t been filled or your lab kit delivery route is still open. Your not cut out for biologics. Its that simple.

Depends on where you’ve worked before this place so you evidently haven’t been part of a true biotech. Enjoy yourself not being in a pod but this place blows. Don’t kid yourself on being cut out for a biologic sale, it all comes down to the product working, safety, and cost. You sound like an ass.

Anybody in biotech started at sometime as entry level pharma. Nobody gets hired in biological without some kind of past history of selling to doctors. And yes many arrogant Regeneron reps started in pharma in a pod. Regeneron still a good job and the complainers are usually ones looking for faults in anything. Again if your not cut out for a constantly changing drug industry like were experiencing the last 5 years I would recommend going back to a 70k pod selling or lab kits always need to be delivered and signed for. CHEERS!!

So are have some new people in management. How often are you interacting with them on a daily basis? It's your manager and regional responsibility to put things in perspective. If they aren't I'm sorry you have bad immediate leadership. The portfolio we have is good..The Derm team has good things to happen in 2019 and Praluent should turn the corner in 2019 with the Outcomes information out there and potentially new indications. If you are so worried about Marion and her every move I would recommend leaving the company. How many companies have a Marion in management ??

I thought once Derm got the asthma indication the bitching would stop considering the reps weren't doing much for 5 months. The Praluent team has been waiting 3 years for the Outcomes Trial and from what we've seen the data sets Praluent apart from Repatha clearly with mortality and reductions in events. I fail to understand because Len made a choice to replace people that its doomsday. The asthma indication is huge for that market and once Praluent gets new indications I would have to think the drug will do well when managed care reduces barriers.
