Yes, similar. I was offered 65K but that's what I was making when I got let go back in the Fall. In the south too, cost of living may play into it. Seems like they're flexible, ask for as much as you can.

HR note..your references (ex DM , doc., counterpart) probably will not be contacted..standard policy is to call former employer, verify dates of employ and ask if would be considered for rehire (ie. did your old company fire you)..that's it.

That's true for a background check, not a reference check. Trust me, they called references after the 3 candidates were done. Maybe they figured since it was a 1 day deal that they wanted to get as much info as possible. Also, I heard they had to re-interview for some positions because they couldn't find a capable person our of the 3 sent by recruiter...last week of Jan is set for this.

I interviewed for a northeast position this week. I too made it to the RD. I was informed it would take a while to get the official word due to all they have to do with checking for this contract but that unofficially congratulations were in order. I believe once they get everything going it will happen very quickly. hang in there and have faith

That is pretty low for that job. It is up to you to negotiate why you deserve a higher salary.
