What the H---happened to the Rheu. Spec. contract?

That is so unprofessional. I have called my recruiter and e-mailed twice and no response. Why would anyone want to work fora company that treats it's potential employees that way?

Its probably because they do not know what to tell you. Until Pfizer knows Publicis won't know. In the hands of the FDA.

My recruiter has been great! Every time I call him, he answers the phone and tells me what he knows. From what I can read, the FDA will probably issue a CRL. The what?

Could be 3 months, could be 6 months, could be 1 year.
Just depends what they want. More studies would mean a lot more time.
Most of the candidates won't wait around so they would have to start recruiting all over

How many drugs has Pfizer filed for approval? Probably more than any other company. How can they get it wrong. It amazes me that companies submit info and FDA ask for it in different forms. When Pfizer is losing blockbusters at a record pace you would think the submitting of data to get a new blockbuster on the market would be spot on. The patent expiration date never changes so Pfizer just loses revenue for the 3 month delay.

BUT REMEMBER YEARS AGO, THE FDA APPROVED EVERYTHING SUBMITTED. NOW 5-10 YEARS LATER YOU SEE ADS ALL OVER THE PLACE FOR LAWSUITS. FDA JUST BEING MORE CAUTIOUS THAT'S ALL.

I was contacted again today about the meet and greets. Still no set date but was told things are progressing.

They have been telling us this for 6 weeks....come on.
They are just doing this cause they know people are going to not wait around
Good chance come Aug 21st this drug will not get approved. Even Pfizer has said so
in their earnings statement

So what, then move on. I'll wait for awhile more. When something better comes up I look into it. I've never had a company be this transparent though with keeping me up to date.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the salary range on these positions? That would be a valuable piece of information in helping me to decide whether to hold out or move on. Also It's been so long, are they offering a $500 car allowance plus gas card? I think I remember them telling me that, but it was in June when I first was contacted about this opportunity.
Serious replies only, please.

"Pfizer noted the results during a conference call to review its second-quarter results. The New York-based company also said it plans in early August to submit a new analysis of tofacitinib data that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration requested. That will almost certainly push back the agency's Aug. 21 target date for an approval decision

You can wait for awhile but I think you are fooling yourself. I guess you can afford to wait but many can't. For 70K and 17 months it is really not worth the wait. They may be what you think is transparent but they are just telling you what you want to hear.

So is 70K what they are offering? That's not bad, and I only need a year and a half and then more than likely I am moving to another area. So if they offer me 70K I am willing ot wait for this position. Everyone's situation is a little different.

Look up Specialty Pharmaceutical Rep on Salary.com. Pay is between $78K and $90K. Don't be a fool and ask for less, but it does vary somewhat depending on the area you are searching (state or zip code). Remember, it's not like you will be driving around a metro area--you will have multiple states, fewer targets, higher call frequency, more overnights and you will only be calling on Rheums. $55K to $75K is for Primary Care metro reps. Don't sell yourself short...

They are most likely offering what the Pfizer reps get for cars: your car has to be not over 5 model years old and less than a certain number of miles (I think my Pfizer rep told me 50K). Then you get reimbursed 55 cents a mile each month. I'm not sure about cell phone allowance, the Pfizer reps are provided Blackberry's. Internet, also not sure, but would image it would be paid for. I believe we would be provided iPad's to record calls on.

Hope this helps....

Thanks for the info. I am just waiting and hoping it gets approved tomorrow. I will take anything over 65K with car allowance and mileage or gas card. I would also expect internet and cell to be paid.
I guess the discussion will either be meaningful or moot after tomorrow.

Pay is 70Kish which is pretty low for "Specialty". No co. car just a car allowance and not sure if gas is included in that allowance.
Will be very surprised if this is approved this week. Could be 6 mos or more if it is not so PSS will have to start from square one on recruiting once it is approved.

Over the next few weeks the FDA is slated to deliver a series of decisions on key drugs. TheStreet's roundup today includes the linaclotide PDUFA date of September 7, along with Gilead's ($GILD) Aug. 27 date for its HIV combo Quad, Pfizer's ($PFE) unspecified August timetable for tofacitinib for rheumatoid arthritis and Sanofi's ($SNY) closely-watched Aubagio for multiple sclerosis, which is in Genzyme's hands as keeper of the MS franchise.

Does anyone know what time the announcement should be made regarding tofacitinib?
