lets be honest, is Las Vegas really an appropriate venue for a Amgen sales meeting? Whoever makes the final decision on venue for sales meetings really needs to wake up. Not only is it not smart to hold the meeting in vegas due to the risk amgen is exposing themselves to with employees they are also exposing themselves to public scrutiny once the word gets out. Oh dry up prude! This is the same type of backward thinking that makes drug companies look like the bad guys. What has pharma/biotech done that other businesses haven't?

The bottom line is that Amgen probably got a good deal bc LV is hurting. And BTW, screw all of the fat-ass, lazy, take-a-pill-eat-a-cheeseburger Americans that have a problem with drug companies.

Amen. Vegas is one of the only places for a National Meeting with 2100 attendees. It's either that or Orlando or Chicago (in January with weather issues). Pretty easy decision. People have to be responsible for their own actions. Bayer was there at the same time for the same reason.

I dont care what Bayer does. Lets go to chicago or Orlando. Vegas is an INAPPROPRIATE venue. Enough said.

Inappropriate? It's only inappropriate if if an INDIVIDUAL does something inappropriate. The company doesn't do it, individuals do. I've seen people fired in every venue for inappropriate behavior. Vegas, Orlando, Chicago, Anaheim, Dallas.
 






What happened.....we realized that all of you should have been given a teleconference number and stayed the hell home! Big waste of money considering what your "sales" contribute to the company!

Next National Meeting will be optional. You can choose to stay home and call on customers, post on cafe pharma, complain about how you missed out.

Hey dumb ass, yes every company that has a sales team has a sales meeting. Umm duh, however they don't have a sales meeting to check the box. The meetings actually have a meaning. Not to certify someone on some bs message. Nor is it for computer training (usually done via webex) which I thought we were a technologically advanced company. We sure act like it with IPhones and IPads. But when it comes to actually utilizing the technology we have to our benefit we cant seem to figure it out. There was NO reason why the sales meeting should have been 5 days long. Very inefficient and the team who put together the meeting should have their heads roll. Waste of company time and money.
 






ANYONE who says Vegas is inappropiate is a huge baby. Why dont you go sleep with bible while you get sprayed. Vegas is the most busy tourist city on earth! It passed Orlando 4 years ago. If you cant go there, then you are a nerd and a baby and probably have NO friends. A fun party, or city, always makes a real wussy geek uncomfortable. Go ahead and inject Prolia till you turn to stone.
