What managers are like....when they DON’T work for Supernuts

Ran into the Aimovig rep outside an office this morning, and he had his manager with him. The rep went inside to sign in while I chatted with the manager.

I warned him that this was an office that doesn’t let managers back, to which he replied, “oh I never go back unless my rep asks me to. I know how it is, and I trust my reps to do their thing. Unless it’s a lunch or something, I leave it up to the rep. In this day and age, I know having me with them can do more harm than good.”

I asked if he could be my boss ;)

My boss absolutely does more harm than good, especially in hallway calls.

So I guess the most surprising thing is how surprised you were to discover this. I thought all reps had known for years that we've been working for Nazis:
- Massive amounts of control.
- Limited and at times restricted free thinking and speech.
- Pushing their prerogative through the use of fear.
- New to the batch is restricting all previously granted autonomy.

I would challenged every rep to ask their RD what 3/19/2020 means for Supernus. Will this not be our day that will live in infamy?
 






Do you ever ask you manager to stay behind? Some of the complaints on this site are valid but some are reaching. I have no problem explaining what offices my rd can’t or shouldn’t come in and he never questions me and respects it. And on the other hand there are actually appointments I want him to come in with me and jump in if he can piggy back anything I’ve said. Maybe I’m wrong here but it seems like this is something you can manage. At least from my experience it is.

Nope. Completely new poster here, I just peep, but I had to jump in on this one. Otherwise happy with Supernus but my Rd runs in behind us, even if we’ve asked him not to. The drs are polite at the time so he thinks it’s okay, but the staff mentions it later and might limit access afterward. I’ve tried to politely tell mine, but he still does it anyway. I’m not going to be mean to my manager, but he doesn’t get the point and doesn’t care. Just adding to it. Again I like my job and the company, just pointing out that not all managers have common sense.

Also, can anyone tell me what the date on the other post is? I think it was 3-19-2020 or something? I hate cafepharma but feel like I have to keep up with this stupid site to get any updates about/from the company. Either my rd isn’t sharing vital info or corporate is being sly. Thanks to all who contribute here, for those reasons alone

I get it. And that sucks, I’m sorry you have an rd like that. I agree with everything else you said though, I stay out of the gossip and will check this site for updates. Sometimes the complaining can go overboard but I guess that’s why people come here. And yeah what’s w the date? Why be mysterious. Out w it.

Completely agree with this person. There are plenty of offices where I have asked him to stay behind, but while I’m in there, he’ll “have to use the bathroom” or something and I’ll run into him in the hall, so he just joins right in.

Had a hallway call last ride day where the doc was obviously in a hectic state (all three other Neuro’s were out of the office), and I felt pressured to pressure the doc despite the circumstances. The doc was nice enough in front of my manager, said the right things, but the next week when I had lunch with him, he said - “I understand you had your manager with you, but that is definitely not the way to get me to write your products. Please don’t ever put me in that situation again.” He felt obligated to do the song and dance because my manager was there, but he did not appreciate it at all.

Oh, my RD said that was our best call of the day, btw.

Oh and as for this......I would LOVE for my manager to be able to come in and help me sell, but he is the most awkward, off-putting guy, and no one likes him. He doesn’t help me at all except when I need him to contact corporate for something.

And someone please explain 3/19/2020?!?!?!

Noone is going to explain the date because it isn’t a thing or the OP would have said something already. It’s an anonymous board and they have nothing to lose.

Can we all just please remember that our posts show up on the forums front page and any idiot can see them and decide to post. And that there are a lot of old Shire reps without jobs right now, living it up on severance

OMG Ever-present Weirdo RD! Nobody gives a fuck about Shire but you. They forgot you all left for Supernus about it 30 seconds after you put in your notice and that’s because they had a really long hardy laugh and possibly a Thank you Jesus

I remember hearing about this a while back (because I have google alerts set up - certainly not because anyone at Supernus proffered this information). It just seemed like 2020 was so far away.

But yeah, it looks like USP settled with Zydus, and Zydus will start selling generic Qudexy XR in March 19, 2020. So I’m guessing that’s different than the “branded generic” Topiramate ER that already exists? Maybe it will just be a lot cheaper?
