This is not only true for the nibr patent department (although I agree that Brown is a joke). The whole patents function at Novartis is lead by idiots. Incompetent and the ones that really made an effort are pushed out. One would think: does Novartis really not care at all? To afraid to send away the head of Group IP who is clearly a nutter. But she is female...and American...a dangerous combination for Novartis.

Note to generics companies: take a very close look @ any patent case filed in the 2000's. The department was to quote jj " a basket case"
