I see NN post LOTS of jobs for both DCS and DCA.. What's the difference and why are there so many openings?

Thanks for the clarification. My next question is do DCAs and DCSs make their sales calls together or do they all detail on their own?
So, as a provider, how will I feel when I learn that I'm only worthy of being called on by an "associate" and not a "specialist"? Surely the associate is not on par with the level of knowledge and expertise I would receive from a specialist! It seems clear to me that my insulin scripts are not as important to Novo Nordisk as scripts from a provider assigned a specialist.
Seriously??? There is absolutely no difference between a DCS and DCA, other than DCS have more experience and make more $$$. You must not be in the industry, otherwise you would know that doctors could care less about a reps title. If you believe otherwise, you are a fool.
Also, this is a way to save money in the long run. Layoffs will happen, because we all know this POD system is a joke with declining access. If you don't believe this you must be a self-preservation fool who is lying to yourself. I have worked in this type of system before and it never bodes well for continued employment. You can not argue with history in this industry.
"if you don't agree with everything I say, then you must be a self-preserving fool who is lying to yourself. Even though you have no idea who i am nor do I have crystal ball to see the future, I'll claim to know everything about everything and insult anyone who doesn't jump on board with my opinion. I am a genius."
Does that pretty much sum up your rant from above?

I love the crystal ball line every time it comes up. Its as if we are incapable of understanding the industry, and must rely on the infallibility of our ELT's edicts for us to know "what good looks like".
Sooooo... I'll ask again - what's the difference between the two, in terms of job description?
They will be calling on low writing doctors with the goal of increasing their scripts. There is 1 DCA per territory. If it will help or hurt has yet to be seen it could go either way.As an investor in Novo and after having read some of these posts I am starting to become concerned about my investment. Does anyone think this new sales force will will help or hurt sales? Also, how many reps wil be calling on drs now? Thanks for any helpful info.

Irregardless of whether or not you are right, you are one abrasive dickhead.
Can I ask you guys a question? I'm not a Rep, but my wife is.
Now, she brought home a gift basket that she was going to give to an office. I don't know why she didn't end up giving it to them, but she didn't. Anyway, I opened it up and sampled some of the "goodies". Lemme tell ya, to my way of thinking, she did herself one helluva huge favor by NOT giving that awful pile of CRAP to that office!
I mean I can just see the staff in that office checking out that basket and saying "That Novo Rep brought that shit in here! That'll be the last time SHE ever gets in here!" I would think that if the Lilly Rep or the Pfizer Rep showed up with a gift basket that was worth eating, then they'd be the ones who would hold sway with them office cows.
So that's my question. Does the quality of the food Rep's provide offices with make any damn difference as to which Rep's get access and which ones don't? My wife says I'm full of shit and that I don't know what I'm talking about. I said "Oh yeah? I'll show you! I'll ask the cafe pharma crowd what THEY think!" Teach that woman not to mess with me!!
