What is really going on?

It just seems like something fishy is going on and I'm just wondering should I be looking for a new job?
So many people are moving to regenerative medicine, are they going to start taking reps over there too?
How is our role in ADHD going to change? Will we have jobs in 2-5 years?
It feels like everything is even more secretive and hush hush right now, I wish leadership would just give us some insight into what's going on!

Where is the pharmaceutical industry going to be in 5 years??

The real problem is this:

Vvyanse is not GROWING...ADD XR is going generic and the price will drop
Shire is receiving a HUGE fine.

In my opinion, leadership needs to explain! Give the field some help here!!!

That's the problem...there is no leadership

The problem is Yasick. He has been a complete failure as our leader. Speaking as an RD, my reps bought into him immediately. Since taking over he has fired or run off every person that understood the ADHD market or cared about this company. He hired a PGM and was then overruled by his boss and forced to terminate that PGM. He forced Casto to hire Jacobs who was terminated. He forced Casto to hire Clarissa who is killing our company. He created a culture of bottom up lmanagement which encouraged RDs and Reps to bypass their direct manager and call him with concerns. He increased our costs by forcing us to hire pharmaceutical reps because they would be more successful. Now our products are flat and we are going to be forced into making cuts. His currents PGMs can't stand each other or work together. My top performing reps make less money than ever. Has anyone even bothered to look at the Vyvanse marketshare growth since he took the position? Six months ago we were told about all of the opportunity that would come with being a CNS business unit. Now I am watching all of my peers being shifted to other groups because of a restructuring. I haven't even mentioned the disaster that he left for our friends in GI.

So true! Especially about the $$$. The top performers will make much less money and the low performers will make more now that there is a team component, what is this socialism?

Have to say I totally agree. One of my favorite quotes from
Clarissa at a POA "town hall" meeting when asked what the hell is going on with coups she ever so professionally said "we need to wean them off the crack". Gotta love that kind of leadership.

I have been with Shire for over 6 years and I have never seen so much uncertainty.

-Fine in the hundreds of millions to hit next year
-Generic ADD XR (loss of hundreds of millions to Shire)
-Intuniv Generic hitting market soon
-Vyvanse growth flat
-Seemingly everyone in leadership positions leaving (Marketing, Cola, ZD's)
-"Restructuring" occuring

These are the dark days for Shire. I am not too optimistic about the future

Thank you to the RD who stepped up and told it like it is. However he or she didn't answer the BIG question......should we start looking elsewhere?? I have a family and a layoff with only 2-3 months of severance would hurt. I have always been told that it's easier to find a job if you have one. So if anyone could comment and provide a little advice, even though after reading posts I think I already have my answer....which is sad because I love or loved this company but alot has changed since I've started. Corporate "culture"??? Well, we HAD one at one time. Now it's all based off of fear and uncertainty, which may be another reason we are not performing up to our capability? Fear will only motivate so much and it's no way to live.

Gary please help us! He's the only one left that I believe truly cares about us.

Got the email today with the news that the SCS team is coming back to the sales team and Gary will report to Bonell. Didn't Bonell take Gary's job? How sad, it's like a demotion for him. Bonell should be reporting to Gary in my opinion. Either way so glad that GC will be back!!! We've missed you GC!!

I'm always curious to the growth expectations of Vyvanse. Am I the only one that gets the fact that "forever" growth is not possible. Vyvanse went from 0% share to the top of the market in a very competitive field full of generic competition and valid competitors. So we go flat on growth... big deal. We are still capturing a ton of share with both Vyvanse and Intuniv. Success does not need to be measured by growth alone, but that is always the fear lurking behind us........

If the SCS guys are being shifted back into CNS or Behavioral Health or whatever we are called these days, when this restructuring occurs, will they be placed back into Sales Rep positions? What does that mean for the rest of us? So, did I miss something or have they announced when this restructuring will take place?

It is a "Big" deal is Vyvanse growth is flat. Shire reports and responds to shareholders. They can't just keep raising the price of Vyvanse due to managed care. They have to show consistant growth to keep shareholders happy. When they fail to do this, cuts need to be made (HELLO! This restructuring MESS!) Why is ADHD going through a re-structure? Because the med is not growing and they need to cut liabilities! It's not hard. It will happen again too if the med continues to stay flat.

The next shoe to drop will be our goals. They WILL become more aggressive to offset the lack of growth. Just wait, and when reps begin to make 2-4k a Q, then you will see.

Even if Vyvanse share if flat the product will continue to grow from a revenue perspective due to overall ADHD market growth (which is running anywhere between 5% and 10% these days) & price increases (which have been taken at an annual 7% clip). So not sure where all this talk of no growth is coming from. I see this product continuing to churn out 10%+ growth rates per year EVEN IF THE MARKET SHARE REMAINS CONSTANT.
