What does it take to get hired at Baxter?

Chances decrease if you are female, unless young and look good to hiring manager. Good if you are young male, especially if you fit with the boys club. Same thing for promotion. Must be part of the club, male, and young. No females allowed except for show!
Talk about diversity is very cheap!

I agree with this - terrible culture, poor management, off-label marketing, unprofessional environment, poor pay compared to other companies. I am already gone and Baxter is a blemish on my resume. If you are interviewing, don't work for this company - you will regret it. If you are working for Baxter now and have any talent at all - get out and find yourself a real job.

Fail at another company and then apply. Formula for success and best exemplified by new Hemophilia Global Franchise Head, BGoff. Expect Christi to follow him there shortly.

A lot of "experienced" replies on this one. Seems that there are either a lot of Baxter rejects or Baxter employees because the facts come through pretty well. Being a primo kiss ass is a huge advantage. Being a female and acting like you are a major kiss ass is also a big advantage. Most of all, being young, naive, starving, willing to work your ass off for nothing, belief that because you are so fantastically talented that you will be promoted right away (which will never happen) or otherwise detached from the reality that you are going to work some of the most deceitful, greedy and ignorant assholes who ever picked up an iPhone you will be a good candidate. Baxter does not want people who can think logically, exercise any real leadership or who have strength of conviction or are not sucked in by bullshit. Depending on which set of criteria you meet make up your mind. 20+ years later you're going to have been screwed multiple times anyway so result is the same.

Good point about the division. Some are good- Med Products is shit. That's the one I was referring to and there are differences. All Baxter divisions don't have lying bastards like Pudlo, serial cluster f's like Brik, etc. Brik- our brain trust and moral leader? First he buys Nexterone for $300 MM and it has a $10MM market so what do they do- overprice the product and can't sell shit so the recoup period is 30 years. Wow, what a deal? Then buys Baxa for $350MM with no sales force to sell it. A Nutrition sales force who is a bunch of dietitians who couldn't find a hospital pharmacy if their lives depended on it and a good Pharmacy sales force that they never bothered to train. Fucking brilliant. IV pumps that are dogshit and service problems are a way of life. What a terrific organization!
